Should have been back to work today, but got up this morning to hot water gushing over the kitchen floor, a burst pipe behind the washing machine. Plumber not long gone, can finally flush the loo! Plumber said the first job hes had that wasnt frozen pipes thawing or broken boiler, join had went on pipe, all I could think was thank goodness we were home! Never mind, could have been much worse!RIP Iain

So many poorly people today. Hugs to you all and nurture yourselves so that you get better soon xx
I popped out for a few minutes today. First time in over two weeks:eek::eek::eek: Kids Dad drove me to see Mooloo as he was fixing her washing machine. It was lovely to see her and DGD but im shattered now so back in bed again. Anyway staying at home is good for OS and boy do I need it as my on-line spending has run away with me recently. Im determined to get it sorted though!
Hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Spose the journey wasn't too bad, we have had worse, a lot of fog and rain about.
Missing my family already, looking forward to seeing them soon in the new year. You would think after 7 years I would get used to it, but I don't.
Hugs for all the poorlies and sorelies and just anyone else who feels a bit flat now its all over.

Just shows you Butterfly how much you never think about the value of fuel as you just put in an amount, say £30 but dont actually take note as to what the actual volume of fuel is.
Someone asked where the best place for cancan wool (sorry cant remember who) I always buy it from the small wool shops and its always been the same price - £9.99 per ball. However you can get two scarves out of it, each selling at £10. Hope that helps

Hi Everyone
Been a busy day at DG towers, started the morning by putting some dough on in the BM for bread rolls for the tea for the Neice/Nephew and family. Followed by making some buns, chocolate muffins and weetabix brownies. Which brings me to a question, when is it a cake and when is it a bun, to me buns are made in "bun tins", but small buns decorated are know as "fairy cakes". So the usual left over meats, beef, pork and ham for us, with a pork pies, salmon and salad, together with a trifle kept the troups from starving.
DS & GF just gone out to celebrate a mates birthday, but tell me we have the pleasure of their company all day tomorow!! They move on on the 31st. Getting a bit panicky now as we only have a week before we go off on our travels again. My diet will recommence once we arrive, as I find it hard while travelling.
Take care all. DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Hello all,
Not done masses today. Went to Tesco's which was pretty quiet to be honest and stocked up on some real food as fed up with party style food.
The afternoon was consumed with watching Blackpool beat Sunderland on the internet - two very happy bunnies in this house :j:j
Missing my parents terribly as not seen them this Xmas due to weather so spoke to my mum about setting up skype so we can see each other instead of just talking on the phone.
Tomorrow we have decided to get off our bums and have a day out now the snow has gone. DH and i are off to a huge garden centre and will probably have lunch out as well.
Been having a bit of a guilt trip about all the toiletries i bought myself in December which were not needed at all. Was thinking of returning some as they were all from QVC but when i factor in the postage i paid to get them and the cost of returning them, i've decided to keep them and some will be great for presents during the year. And i did get them for a lot cheaper than the RRP
Hugs for all the poorly guys and gals out there
I'm off to finish my first complete book on my Kindle! Then will face the decision of what to read next0 -

Evening All
Hope you dont mind me joining the thread as i am a newb to the site. My wife has used it from time to time so i thought i would check it out for myself.
Not been up to much today. Just started to take stock of everything in the house. This is going to be a very thrifty year fur us. It looks like we are going to need to buy a new settee later this year as the old one is slowly giving up the ghost. So we are starting to squirrel away for that.
Unfortunately its back to work tomorrow, but hopefully the walk to work wont be as slippy as it has been due to the thaw.
The countdown to 2011 begins and plans are being made.
