hoi! Firstly, I'm female
and 2, I loves my renault, so much so we have two!
My husband drives that one and yes, there was a lot of noise, but being a lazy !!!!, he kept saying 'I'll get it looked at, I'll get it looked at...' You know, the usual idiotic responce to something. If it still goes it must be okay.
I'm guessing both bits went since the mechanic said 'parts'. The engine mouts are now fine, just the gears. He has now actually taken it away to get it looked at though. Possibly the threat of having to get a bus to work, possibly because he doesn't like driving my car, more likely because I couldn't get to a shop for cold meat for his sandwiches yesterday because I had no car. \`1 sq 3e4
We've had it for 4 years and this is the first problem beyond tyres and break pads. It's outlasted a fiesta, a BMW and that heap of a trajet, so ner!0 -

you get quite a bit of Renault bashing on here to be fair but take it with good spirits
As they say though when you get a noise get it checked out. Engine mounts when worn produce awful vibrations/noises and now a huge billIf Adam and Eve were created first
.Does that mean we are all inbred0 -
I had a snapped engine mount years ago on a Vauxhall Nova.
Took some time to diagnose it but before I did, I found that normal driving was fine in every way. However, when braking even slightly harder than normal, the car would get waaaaay out of shape and the back end wanted to swing left. For a couple of days I knew about it and was prepared but it was still dangerous.
Discovered the engine mount on the passenger side had broken and once replaced the car was fine.
Hydraulic jack under the engine to lift it, then old mount out, new one in. Mate and I did it in good time....probably no more than an hour.
The most difficult thing as I recall was lifting the engine enough to get the broken one out but not lifting it so much to snap or damage any of the others. Bit of care and attention though and it was fine.
Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!0 -

I know, don't worry. Should have heard them when I said I was buying a Sceinic! :rotfl:
Thing is, he drives the car to work and back. We have 3 children and their car seats are all in my car which we use when we go out. I never actually heard the noise till the day it broke. It wasn't that bad, was like the tracking or whatever it is was out on the passenger side wheel. Didn't get far before a big 'Crack-bang-crunch-grinnnndddddddd' and it did feel like something fell out.
My husband the pain in the butt. If my car was doing it he would have it in to be checked, but he isn't bothered if it's just him
One good thing, I'll know if mine starts to go! :rotfl:0 -

No one should justify the reason why they bought a particualr brand of car.
Too many believe VW/BMW/Merc are the best car's money can buy which is carp in itself
I buy Renaults because i like the way they drive, i like the availability of parts, and im familiar with the mechanical side so are easy to work onIf Adam and Eve were created first

LOL !
Inactive.. You know my Laguna... Well.....It's.. Kind...... Of... Developed a problem with the lower rear suspension bushes lol...... And i need 2 new track rods (inner and outer end) as the steering is getting terrible..
Gonna sort it next month.. Parts are cheap just time to do it myself and the £40 to get the tracking properly alignedIf Adam and Eve were created first

Please read "Inactive" as "Imoveable", at least in his views on anything non-japanese, however we, in the modern world progress and actually accept progress:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
