Fairly sure I saw rocket in there on Tuesday. Also Charlotte and Maris Piper.

Thanks everyone :) got some rocket pots today and a mock orange, some dahlias as well as a little yellow shrub for my dad's grave plot. I can't wait to see what they look like once they are all grown. Supposedly mock orange has a beautiful smell!

    I do.
Let them bud with a few sprouts, then choose the healthiest looking bud/root, and remove the rest and plant them up.
Professional gardeners may come along and let you know if there is anything else you need to do to make them grow better, but I always get spuds from mine. :D

    can I plant now?

  • Well well.

This is the first year that I have ever ventured into poundlands gardening section this early on in the year and have to ssay that I am shocked at the choice!

    Everything from onions to lillys.

Just wondering if I was to buy a few bits like pots, bulbs and sets they will be alright till I plant them out in march time wont they? They will be in a nice dark spot in my shed.

Also what kind of results have people had from poundland "produce"?

I have always had great success with Poundland stuff. Nothing has ever failed. Highly recommended, however, are the lilies. I get beautiful displays year after year.

Grumble, grumble....put proper clothes on not covered with mud, went into town and everything was closed, including the shopping centre poundland is in.

It does, may take some time to get going, and TBH once blossom is over the shrub is just a bit green and dowdy, but space permitting a nice choice

Sets & potatoes should be fine to keep to March, need to keep them cool though, bulbs, depends on the bulbs, generally sooner in the ground the better

The spuds may just be better off in light & cool conditions, just in case they sprout. You do not want long pale white sprouts from the seed spuds, more small, nobbly gree ones

My Poundland is new opening, so just cannot comment on their gardening stuff

I know what you are saying but surely these shops don't have a 2/3 week turnaround on this stuff. Most of these things wouldve been packed 6/12 months ago wouldnt they.

Surely they would get better storing conditions in my cool shed than what they would under the lighs in poundworld for a few weeks?
