A belated happy new year snowdenlily, i hav'nt been on for a week or so between the joys of working in a supermarket over xmas and new year and a computer that is playing up i hav'nt had the time, but now back to normal and back on the boards. I,ve borrowed a exercise bike from my dad cos he would rather walk about 2 miles a day than go on the bike [he is nearly 78] and i got weights for xmas to help with my bingo wings.

Going to concentrate on clearing at least one of my debts this year would like to have cleared more but am being realistic.

Good luck for the diary for this year will be following it closely.

  • Hello weeclick, hi amber - nice to see you back again :)

I've just had the electrician here to look at the shower.......his conclusion..................its broken!! :wall:

Because the wiring in this house is so old, any old shower won't do, so he has to order a new one which he can't fit till next week.

I've been complaining about the lack of water pressure here since I moved in, and apparently this is why the shower's broken. If they'd listened to me in August, they wouldn't have to go to the expense of buying a new shower :mad:

I've just tried to do a load of washing and half the load has come out of the machine as dry as it was when it went in! Honestly, I can't see what's so difficult about sorting out the water pressure. I've been showering at the gym since the 1st January (low water pressure means it takes hours to fill the bath.....by the time the bath's full, the water's gone cold):mad:

Sorry about that..............rant over. Hopefully in a couple of months my divorce will be finalised and I'll be able to look for my own little house.

Went to the gym again this morning, I'm so tired now :D

I've never, ever run for fun, but I surprised myself today because I actually enjoyed it (I know............I don't believe it either!). I can't run for long, but today, I tried running for 30 seconds and walking for 30 seconds, and did this for 20 minutes, then run for the last 60 seconds.

I can really feel my legs now :D

My target is to be able to run a mile without stopping before the summer.

That's not much of a target for most people, but for me it might as well be 20 miles :o

Weeclick - it took me about 14 days to get to 80,000 on toluna, but that was quite time consuming so I don't think I'll be doing the next one in 14 days :rotfl:

Amber - Happy New Year to you too. How's it going with the exercise bike? My bottom hurts after the one at the gym, but I think that's probably 'cos I haven't been near a bike for years :rotfl::rotfl:

I know what you mean about the bingo wings, I'm desparate to get rid of mine. When I used to go swimming every week, they were much better, so I guess that's what I need to do. Its easy at the moment 'cos I don't have to work till the 19th, but once I'm back in my routine, it'll take some doing!

Right......I'm going to check my washing again now. I've put it through for the second time in the hope it'll wash properly this time.

Today was a NSD (the gym has been paid for the month) :D

I hope everyone has a good weekend x

Glad to hear you're taking full advantage of the gym membership, including the shower:rotfl: When you buy your own place you'll have to insist on taking a shower to test it before you put in an offer:D

I think it's admirable having a target for your running, brisk walking is about my limit:o Perhaps when the spring arrives you can do some outdoor running in the evenings. I'm so looking forward to better weather although it's a long way off yet.

Have a good weekend. Oh and your ebay total's looking good too. Any hope of any more of your stuff being 'released'?
  • Hi maman

Brisk walking is also usually my limit, but having BF training with me spurred me on a little :rotfl:

Saw DS3 and DS2 last night, and H did indeed send some of my stuff up with them..........they arrived with a boot full of broken exercise equipment (nothing remotely useful!) which is now cluttering up my parents garden shed

I really don't have the energy to play his little games, so he can do his worst. I'll get my stuff sooner or later and in the meantime he'll show himself for what he is :T

I'm off to make myself a jacket potato and some couscous. BF is coming round later to introduce me to his DS2 (he also has 3 sons). Can you imagine how much food I'll have to cook if I ever end up catering for his 3 AND my 3 at the same time

Snowdenlily i know what you mean about running, i've tried a few times to go running but give up after a couple of minutes, i always feel heavy when i run and not light and nimble like these pro runners do. My OH used to run marathons and he told me that the first 10 mins are the worst then it all falls into place. I did the Race For Life a couple of years ago but walked all the way, but i am a fast walker.

If we all keep encouraging each other then come the summer we will all be fitter and healthier and since the experts are saying we aregoing to have a heatwave we will be lookin good [ well we have to have something to look forward to ].

Good luck at meeting BF's son you will need a bigger house if things work.

  • Amber - I know what you mean, I feel really heavy and clumsy when I try to run.

Today, I was imagining myself walking down the street in my hometown in a pair of jeans I've had in my wardrobe for a couple of years (but never worn) and a black tshirt...........looking amazing :T

I agree, if we keep encouraging each other, we'll all look amazing :T

BF and his DS2 brought the xbox kinect with them and are looking really silly at the moment, waving their arms about, trying to play a game :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I also have to admit, I'm having a glass of wine as I type :o

I'd better go........its my turn next!

Looking forward to the heatwave amber:)
  • Hi snowdonlily,

I've been reading you diary lately and just wanted to pop in and say how good it is, and how great it is that you are moving your life forward positively. I too am trying to kickstart my running again, there was a time when I'd run 5k 4 times a week, sadly that is no more due to sheer laziness. Hopefully by the summer we'll both be up there running regularly and will look back to the first run of the year and laugh at how short a distance the running was before the walking.

good luck with everything (the BF, the 6 hungry boys, and the running). I hope 2011 is really good to you.

  • I hope everyone's been having a good weekend :)

Iwantahome - thanks for saying hello..........good luck with your running too! I doubt if I'll ever manage 5k but never say never :j

BF had his DS2 staying with him all weekend, so i've spent a bit of time getting to know him, he's a really nice boy thank goodness!

Quite a late night last night.......I didn't wake up until 11.26am today  I've never slept that late before

I'm watching the first SATC DVD this afternoon, first time I've seen it :D

Ten more days left of my holls and FOURTEEN days till payday, its going to be a tight one

Not much else to report really, its been a lovely weekend that also happened to be a lazy one .............tomorrow I'll be hitting the gym again (I have to get value for money out of that months' membership!) and getting back on track with my budget...........I lost it a bit yesterday :o

I'm going to try the Toluna site now to see if there's any new surveys.
