Hi Snowdownlily,
On survey, I use MySurvey (fantastic prior Christmas as I really got a few vouchers out of it very quickly) and started "It's your view" from Top Cashback (£0.70 a survey) (I did quite a few, the payment is quite far away so not sure how good this is in the long run).
I do enjoy Yougov as well (Takes about 2 to 2.5 year to get to £50 but the nature of the surveys is in my opinion really interesting) - Hope this helps
Just ditched Sky over here after 7 years! and moved to Freeview+ (the cost of the box will be recovered in 11 months). Very happy
Have a great week and enjoy the remaining of your holidaysMFW on your mark0 -
ahh I read this thread and remember how lazy Ive been as I was meant to start the gym on Wednesday DEFINATELY starting tomorrow - making HM drop me there on way to work and have no way of getting back so no choice but to stay!!
Well done on going to the gym and great news about BFs son!Life is what you make it.0 -
I got my decree nisi through today
:(:(
I didn't expect it to make me sad, after all, I hadn't been happy with him for the last few years, but the letter took me by surprise!
I think its because its the end of an era - I might have been miserable, but I knew where I was.
Everything's so up in the air at the moment I don't know where I am from one day to the next!
I'll be a single woman in 6 weeks. (I'm not forgetting BF, thats still very early days
)
I also got an interim bill from my Sol for £500 in the same post, talk about kicking me when I'm down :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
At least she prepared the bill before the VAT rise, so that's a few pennies saved :T
Went to the gym this morning, didn't feel much like going, but managed to drag my b*m out the door. Still trying to incorporate some running into my workout and funnily enough, I'm enjoying it
H is still being awkward about my possessions so I just kept picturing his face yesterday when he had a puncture in his new BMW (DS3 told me)....................and I was flying on that treadmill!
Today was a NSD :T BUT I'm still owed money for some book-keeping work I do for my former employer.
Hi Karom - I've managed to get enough points for one voucher on Toluna, but haven't got very far this week, I keep getting screened out right at the very end. I'll look into the others thank you - I think it could get quite addictive
Oh, yes, got a message on ebay yesterday from one of my buyers, trying to say that something I'd sold was not as described. I emailed her to tell her that if she sends it back in the condition she received it (which was perfect), I'll refund her - so far I've had no response.
Right, I'm off for a look around some of the other boards - I hope everyone else had a good day xTotal debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
I can imagine receiving the letter is still a down-to-reality. Keep strong.MFW on your mark0

I've just written a huge post and lost it all, which is just about typical of my last couple of days

You're right Karom, the letter brought me down to earth with a huge bang and seeing the County Court letterhead made me feel like I'd done something wrong, which of course I haven't, so I pushed that thought straight out of my head.
Had to phone H yesterday, we haven't spoken for a while, but I received a bill from Virgin Media a couple of days ago - not a very nice letter, quite threatening really wanting money.
The broadband/phone account at the old house was with them and in my name, but paid for by H. When I left I had to close the account (they refused to just transfer it from my name to his) and he opened a new one. They sent a bill for the final month plus a cancellation fee - which he's refused to pay hence the threatening letter. Its not a huge amount, its just the principle. He earns more than twice my wage and I haven't lived there since August
His words were... "its in your name..........why should I pay it?"
Anyway, I couldn't be bothered to argue, so I phoned Virgin Media this afternoon, to pay up, but my Visa debit card was declined twice! The lady was very nice and told me to phone my bank........................which I did..........straight away!
My card is one of a series of cards that have been cloned, so they had to cancel it...........I won't get the new one for about 5 days
What next??????
I'm trying to find a silver lining here, so I'm declaring today a NSD........albeit by accident, and I made £28 in ebay sales last night, so although that doesn't quite cover the Virgin Media payment, its pretty close so its not all bad
Had to take my Form E to be sworn by a Solicitor yesterday, so thats another £5 out of the pot. Hopefully nothing else is due to pop up between now and payday other than petrol or I'm in trouble
I really have to stop thinking about money all the time. Even when I'm in bed all I can think about is money, budgets, spending plans, mortgages, future budgets, future mortgage payments (when I get my own house) ..........its driving me crazy. He's always told me how hopeless I am with money, I'm so scared of making a mess of it all and proving him right, I'm giving myself sleepless nights.Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -
Firstly your H will never be "proved right" the pure fact that you are here on this board tells me your not hopeless with money, and that your actually giving it all the care and attention you can - as does having a budget!
I stay awake in bed for ages at night thinking about money, funny how although money can never make you happy (I know me and my HM blew £80k last year!) a lack of it can certainly make you miserable! Just remember there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
Bit c**p regarding virgin - I guess they see alot of these cases, I know I did when I worked for BT.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for you! Just keep positive!

Thanks weeclick - I've just had a lovely hot bath and a piece of chocolate cake (not at the same time
).
Feeling much better now
My attitude to money has changed completely in the past year. Its funny how it occupies most of my thoughts these days, but when I was spending like water, I never gave it a second thought!
Just caught up with your thread, you're doing really well with your ebay items.......good for you :T
Hope you get the car sorted.
Been doing some more surveys this morning and am just over halfway to another voucher with Toluna :T
My favourite movie star is on tv tonight.......Indiana Jones & the Temple of Doom is about to start. Watching Harrison Ford always cheers me up!Total debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00 -

What goes around comes around (or whatever way it is said). I believe in positive attitude and biting the bullet to get on with things (not always easy to be honest )... but you are definitely not a looser or hopeless with money. It is going to be difficult and we are here to help/cheer up/tell off when out of line/..... Take care. Enjoy the movieMFW on your mark0

Hope Harrison Ford did his magic tonight SL. I just caught up on this week's posts. Sorry you are having a bad week. You'll be fine with the money. Once everything is settled, you'lll be able to work within your budget and then it won't be such a huge part of your life. Keep using that gym membership or go for a walk. It's good for clearing the mind.
A puncture, in the BMW:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
