    Morning all,

Today I need to go to town - bank, library, returns to MS, bits of food.
Then I need to iron, do our bedroom and vac round downstairs.
Not sure I'll complete the ironing challenge - we'll see!?!!

    Morning

You've left me back on pg 15  so no prospect of catching up before next year :rotfl:

Off to work soon for the last time this year and then going to friends tonight so unlikely to get back on here before then.

Hope you all have a great New Year, see you on the other side!

I'm putting off the mortgage cover and life insurance because it confuses the hell out of me!

Please please please sort this out, it is far more important to get this right than getting the right ISA rate. You never know what is round the corner and should the worst happen the survivor could be left with having to lose the house as well.

realistically my back problems have scuppered the ironing....but I will do some more today.

DS is working today and tomorrow - and planning on going out tonight (he normally comes in at about 5am!!!) Why cannot he see that this is a recipe for disaster?

SHYSARAH - Hope you got some sleep in the end. Odd time of year for ants to be out, but your fridge is obviously full of delicious things!

VANILLA - Have you thought about taking scissors to bed? Just wave them around aimlessly and whoops..

    Today:
    • [STRIKE]WM is on. It turned out that there was only one wash load left in the basket after clearing Mt Washmore so I did that last night. Leaves me free to wash my bedding today; which does take all day as I have layer upon layer etc. I love being snuggled in![/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Off to the Charity shop with the wedding dress/bridesmaids. They washed well enough except the hem on the train is still dirty. That wasn't coming out on a 30deg silks wash! Plus it gets the kids out for half an hour.[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]List a few more bits on Ebay[/STRIKE]. Have lots of photography books to get rid of so may look at Amazon too.
    • Had enough of de-cluttering! But upstairs is almost done - only one hotspot left in my room then its ready to be packed.
    • [STRIKE]Usual Dailies[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]I am going to let the kids get out some of their new presents today[/STRIKE]; like the making kits etc. That way they can be used up before the move and won't need to be packed. :D
    • [STRIKE]Shelves in the front room need a de-clutter. They have accumulted a lot of junk over the festive period.[/STRIKE]

    Hi All,

Hugs, spoons and sticks to those who need them.

WM is on, cats fed and decluttered, OH and DS1 off to work for the morning.

H/M Turkey and Ham pie in the oven ready for lunch, I'll bash the potatoes then the carrots. Time to sort DDs room while shes out, she spent the night at her friends after a birthday party, expect to see her later before she goes to the New Years party, she might say hello on the way thru. ;)

I'm loving all the ideas. :rotfl:
I just cannot take anymore music at night, i'm sick of not getting proper sleep. I was very temped to accidentally on purpose break the earphones or hide them last night but he'd only have to go today and get more.

Sunday morning i have to leave him up for a lift to football at 4.30 in the morning and lift him again at some stupid time like 2.30 in the morning, so no proper sleep then. As well as keep the kids amused all day. I'm temped to tell him to take the car but i know i'll need it.:(

Plan now is finish my cuppa and go sort the bins out. Yea finally getting the bins emptied. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Vanilla and Lil me I remain lost in admiration for how you cope on so little sleep, and stunned at the pure selfishness of some people.
and at the other extreme mumof2 lovely to see your DH went with you, good to see you have some support.

Hoping the recycling will finally be collected today. The patio is a mountain of cardboard. Luckily it is wet so I have managed to squash a huge amount in the bag.

Need to get dressed :o and then get on.

  • ANW's Mum - Bless you, and thank you for the boot up the bum. Don't panic - there is definitely cover in place if anything should happen to me or DH then the mortgage is covered. I made sure of that after my cousin died suddenly last year and left her hubby in a bit of a pickle. Trouble is it's spread over three different policies and I think there's more cover than we need rather than less. But I can't find half the paperwork so it'll mean getting our IFA back and he can talk for flipping England!

Sarah - Hope the ants have gone. You've obviously found a pet safe powder, but if ever you want to get rid of ants without it, I've found that sweeping them up and relocating them does actually work! I had a nest near my backdoor every summer at my old house and they'd come in the kitchen, but if I swept them up in a dustpan and took them down the end of the garden they'd get the message after a couple of days!

Quillon - What a nightmare for you. I hope you get it sorted. Re. your ex trying to turn Jake against you; don't worry unduly. In my experience the children soon get to know their parents' true colours. My god-daughter's father is a tit, pure and simple, but she's known since a young age that he couldn't be trusted. Just don't get drawn in to his petty games.

And now.... my ironing basket is empty!!! Woo-hoo!! Washing basket sadly not, but it's mostly bedding and towels so two or three WMs will clear it. No TD so can only really do one wash a day in winter.

Plans for today are to tidy up after last night's drinks party, S&S kitchen and bathroom and then go shopping for a new sofa.

I even scrubbed the floors yesterday. You lot are WAY too good an influence on me.....!

    Morning all

I only skimmed the last couple of pages and it looks as if lots of you could do with some hugs and posi-vibes, so they're on their way. If I try to catch up with the thread I'll get nothing done, so will have to leave it.

I saw this before reading the original post and got the wrong end of the stick completely! :o:rotfl:

Yesterday went ok, but I spent longer at work then planned and DH really wanted to go out afterwards. Fortunately I didn't spend much (vouchers and gift card) and I found a few clothes bargains for DS2. Got to watch DH, though, as he's started to expect me to pay in cafes most of the time. After tea I did lots more work and then had some more time with the lego. Only two models left to work on and then I'll know which parts are definitely missing and whether it's worth ordering them.

This is turning into a very long post (sorry!), but I'll probably not be on again for most of the day. I've decided not to carry on with the ironing challenge, as I didn't get DS2's room done yesterday, and that's more urgent. DH almost cleared the basket yesterday and it will be empty again next Tuesday or Thursday, so that will have to do.

    Today's little list:
    breakfast, washed and dressed
    phone Thornton's
    check colleague's address
Write b.day cards for SIL and friend's daughter's partner
load car with recycling and stuff for charity shop
call at school to print stuff off
town (charity shop, recycling place, diesel, primark, market for bread, deliver cards, buy cards for January, call at colleague's house to drop off paperwork)
    DS2's room

We are going to NN's tonight (me and kids - DH will be at the club), so I don't have to spend much time getting ready. We may pack up the Wii to take and I'll phone them in a bit to ask if I need to bring anything other than a bottle.

Have a good day, everyone, and best wishes for a good start to 2011, in case I don't make it back on before tomorrow. x
