My progress is zero - so overdrawn I can't afford the sales
On a positive note I don't have any credit card bills coming my way and by mid/late January that overdraft should be clear. I'm also going to make alot of my pressies for 2011 and hopefully already have alot of kits etc that I can use.

I want to join in, as this year was a late minute rush and nightmare, I did manage to make a few presents in Nov which went down really well so i want to be prepared for 2011. i'm going to try and buy a present a month so its not such a big expense.
If any one has any ideas of what type of things to make would be good. this year i made a christmas stockings and put chocolates in them.DONT BUY IT, I DONT NEED IT0 -
May I ask a question please, I've recieved some perfume as a Christmas gift. I would like to know if it would be suitable to keep and be regifted next Christmas? Does perfume 'go off'? I really want to reduce what I spend on Christmas next year and I'm planning to do as much regifting as possible and think this would be a good start. thanks for your thoughts.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0

Re Cards - have gort all mine now for 2011 - used to write them all eraly around Sept and then add personal notes in December before sending/giving - but last year did the basic messages in January before putting them away when all still fresh in my head.
Update
My sister does that - I find it better to keep cards somehwere accessible - then they can be sorted and done early.
id love to do that, but i am rather scatter brained, which is why i put in the trees box, so i would see thema nd not go buy anymore... but i wont this year coming, as i am going to be doing a christmas spreadsheet, telling myself where im putting decorations, cards, presents, etc. along with a running rrp and what i paid for it, so i can see what my overall savings is.

Yikes! You should suggest next year that they do what my DD's friends did - they held their own secret santa, so each had to spend between £5 and £10 on one friend only. It's great if they have a big group of friends. They also club together on birthdays, and everyone gets a good-sized Boots voucher to spend how they like that everone put £5 towards.
I hope that your back is now much better - what an awful time to have back trouble, it's such a debilitating problem.0
