has anyone seen the edwardian farm books really cheaply at all ?
Sorry I havent.
I have managed to pick up today a small sewing machine for my 13 year old niece for £12. Not the best Im sure but will do her for making her little ipod covers and other bits she is starting to make.
I seem to be quite stuck at the moment and not really picking much up. I cant seem to get back into the swing of jewellery making which I would like to do as I want them for presents. Not that Im running out of time quite yet mind :rotfl:0 -
Hello all
Was wondering if I could join you please.
Have done nothing ready for Christmas and last year birthdays officially ended for me in June with my boyfriend as the last one and then mine was in July - but now my daughter is 3 days before me I have to wait until slightly later and they are then pretty much finished for summer holidays then so my shopping time is cut considerably from starting in June - to now having to wait until September! :eek:
Currently no ideas for Christmas gifts at all.
Although the people I have to buy for IN MY FAMILY are
boyfriend
son - 7 years old
daughter - will be 18 months old by then
mum
sister
niece - 6yo
niece - 4yo
dad
step mum
step brother
step sister
nan
grandad
nephew 1 - 10yo
nephew 2 - 8yo
4 cats
1 dog
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
and then in my boyfriends family there is an additional
step son
mother in law
father in law
sister
niece - 8yo
nephew - 9yo
nephew - 14yo
his best mate
3 dogs
1 guinea pig
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
so we have quite an extended family so the cheaper I can do it the better.
I am hoping to find a biscuit recipe online for the 4 cats and 3 dogs so they can have some homemade treats, but one dog isnt really keen so she will get a cheap toy.
Son, Daughter and boyfriend I dont tend to worry about getting done as I know they will inevitably get what they want.
My nan prefers homemade gifts so will try and make her something nice. I have found a nice tablet cloth that has cross stitch on it that I might make her if I have time and I can treat myself and it can be an ongoing project then too.
Other than that for everyone else I have no idea!Time to find me again0 -
Home Bargains are selling a 'Dog Tricks and Treats' gift set which comes with a recipe book and a bone shaped cutter - which you could use for your biscuits - and it also has a tug toy for the non-treat loving hound
I can't believe it's June already :eek: Time for a monthly checklist
UPDATE:
So far I have bought
:all wrap, tags and cards for next year
:most decs - still need red/green tinsel and a red or green tree topper
:18 out of 20 family xmas gifts
:DD - Finished
:OH - Finished - but will probably still pick up the odd book I see in charity shops
plus ALL family birthday gifts and new baby bits
Also have got Father's Day gifts sorted :T
updated bits in bold
It's my birthday this month so I hope the rest of my family are as organised as me :rotfl:0 -
hello
I've bought my first Christmas bargain over he weekend (diary of a wimpy kid for my little girl) It was 40p from car boot but looks immaculate
I'm beginning now, picking up whatever I can.
I've subscribed so I can look back at ideas and want to be scouring the boards for home made ideas too.0 -
I love car boot sales. You can pick up some amazing finds there for Christmas. I have bought loads of smellies which are brand new in boxes for a couple of quid and on the odd occassion that the box is bashed I just take them out and put them in a basket and make a hamper. We have loads of stalls which sell new things too at our boot sale. Lovely little jewellery sets and bobbles and stuff from the likes of Asda & Tesco but all end of lines.
Must try and get there this weekend.0 -
my step mother is very difficult to buy for at christmas, but she looks after my old dad wonderfully. Since January I have been applying for all the freebie skin care and makeup products/shampoo etc samples, hopefully i will have 24 by 1st Dec to make a pampering advent calander. I am handy with needle and thread so will get some red or green fabric and make a holder with 24 small pouches. I am sure this will go down well and won't cost much.:)0
