Hi gail127 :hello: Welcome to the thread - we're still fairly quiet (well it is only April
) but if it helps to write a list of what you need to buy and update it as often as you like to help you stay on top of it this is a good a place as any to post it.
So yet another month has whizzed by - and another update. I still need to go through my cupboard and re-sort as I've picked up a few more bits here and there and need to re-organise.
UPDATE:
So far I have bought
:all wrap, tags and cards for next year
:most decs - still need red/green tinsel and a red or green tree topper
:17 out of 20 family xmas gifts (Just found out ANOTHER new baby due Sept for step-brother and SIL so another to add to the list- these people just don't think of my budget when they decide to breed :rotfl:)
: DD - Finished
:OH - Finished - but will probably still pick up the odd book I see in charity shops
plus ALL family birthday gifts
Also have got Father's Day gifts sorted :T
updated bits in bold
Will pick up some 'new baby bits' here and there (ASDA/Sains Baby Events etc) but will wait 'til we know what flavour they are before I buy any 'big' gifts.0 -

Hi all
We are almost half way through the year, where has it gone?
I really need to get my ar$* in gear. I do this every year, have brilliant intentions in January then get lazy and think I've got loads of time!
Don't think I will be making much in the way of pressies, I'm not that gifted! Might have a go at knitting some scarves, I'm so vague about everything though.
My plan of action is........
* I am going to write a list of 'ideas' today for people and try to buy a couple of things a month, to spread the cost. If I can't think of anything for certain people I will put £10 or £20 away in my savings account so it's there for when I decide.
* I am going to cut up all my old xmas cards and make them into gift tags. Not too challenging, think I might manage. This will be a work in progress, will try to do some each evening.
* Missed out on the cheap wrapping paper after xmas, wasn't organised enough! Will keep my eyes open for paper that could be used for xmas or birthday (plain or brown).
* Think I may have a go at some hampers........ no I will definately have a go at some hampers. Will write down what type I am going to do for each person and what is going to be in them.
* Keep my xmas ideas book on me at all times, to make life easier when shopping, I always try to remember what I need then feel frustrated when I get back and a key item has been forgotten!
That will do for now. Will try to update later in the week.
Lets keep motivated people, hugs to you all :T

I know can you believe it. Nearly half way through the year and Christmas just around the corner
Im exactly the same Pixie Fairydust. I have great intentions then they trail off but have got my backside in gear this weekend. I have been to the local car boot sale this morning which is more like a cross between a market/car boot sale and picked up some lovely bits. There is a stall which sells Body Shop items at really cheap prices so picked up some bits to make a litle hamper for my sister as she loves the BS. I picked up 2 BS scrunchy things, 2 papaya body scrub, 2 Mango body wash and 2 Mango body cream for £3 to make 2 little hampers. Also picked up a Sanctuary spa body lotion tubs x 2 which were still in the plastic packaging for 50p, a hello kitty toiletry bag with smellies in for £1, a NO7 heavanly hydration cream for £1.50 all for little hampers i am doing for family. I also bought myself an ipod docking station which is brand new for £3. I was feeling really left out. :rotfl:
I have been saving since end of November and decided to count my stash today. £450 already so I am really happy with that as we still have another 6month before i stop saving.
I have also decided to make some bath bombs too for my hampers so have invested in a lovely kit from Ebay. Hopefully they will turn out well.
I have started a spreadsheet and wrote everything i have bought and ideas of what i would like to buy for people. Each year i decide i am going to cut down on presents but never do. I love to spoil my nieces nephew and family and intend to continue so certain members of my family are going to have to get over it and accept it that I can and will spoil my neices and nephew while I am in a position to do so.
Would be good to hear how other poeple are getting on.......0 -
I came across this site and loved the personalised hand made childrens jewellery on there. I only mention it because it is cheap. The children's bracelets are only £5 with a £1 postage. I bought five of them!!! :j

Wendy 5704 - glad I'm not the only one! You sound far more organised than me, well done with the savings :j
I opened a savings account with good intentions of putting a small amount aside each month, current balance £0!
I work every weekend so don't get to any car boots. Your body shop finds sound brilliant.
Does anyone have any ideas where I can get some cheap baskets from for my hampers?
Made a start on the gift tags, think I am going to buy some stick on jewels though to jazz them up a bit and some fancy scissors, will have a look on ebay.

I got some baskets a couple of years ago from £land - not too big or too small and they have handles - they had some last year but I haven't seen them this year yet - worth keeping an eye out
I also got some stick on jewels there too - in the arts/crafts/stationery aisle0 -

Thanks will keep an eye out, I don't go into the town centre much but might have to make a trip at least once a month.
£land is great isn't it, I got a couple of xmas trays last year, just big enough for one person, I wish I had got a couple more for pressies, but with £land if you don't get it when you see it you won't see it again!
