I can't help, I'm afraid, as I was away from Wetherby at the weekend. It's on my FB though and lots of friends who live in Wetherby also posted it as their status.
We live a couple of miles out of town and saw the police dogs out last night. The helicopter and the camera van had been out earlier as well.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he's found quickly Soulie xox0 -

hi everyone, sorry i've no time to catch up, i will later. i hope everyone is ok? it's a nice sunny day today. woop!
just wanted to say i've made good progress with the Bowl of Lemons this week, and as we had unexpected guests over the wknd, i sat and did the easy bits whilst one friend knitted, and my OH and her (female) OH smoked pipes! :rotfl: the most traditional, yet non traditional, night i've had in ages!
- sorry - i've just looked over this page. i'm sorry to hear somethings wrong. *hugs* to Soulie. I'm sorry i dont have time right now to read back. sorry if i've said something inapropriate. xRelax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -
Soulie- thinking of you today and hoping the search goes well x
Mountain Ash - great progress on the Sunflowers, although I can't see the zebra cushion for some reason.
I finally did a little bit more on my rocket yesterday, but I seem to be lacking enthusiasm for it at the moment!0 -
Hello Everyone, I have had a nosy at this thread a few times over the last couple of months and love seeing all of your work. I have been stitching since I was around 11. I have recently bought my 1st HEAD design and would like a little advice before I get stuck in if thats ok
Firstly the instructions say to stitch on 25ct Dublin Linen - I have only ever stitched on aida before so would I be ok to transfer to aida? Also 25 count does seem rather small to what I usually stitch on so i'm a bit wary of that also.
Secondly I was wondering what Frames are most recommend and which size you all have found to be most useful, I have one but have never used it because the designs are too big.
Lastly when stitching I always start in the centre I have noticed on the HEAD instructions it says to start top left is this what you do, or do you change to find the centre?
Sorry for all the questions and Thanks in advance
Emma

I sussed out after i started that i could of got a pen to draw the squares on to make it easier, its a pen that washes off, someone will say what it is in a min (sorry MS is playing with my brain today and cant remeber names of things)0 -

Okay...where to start...;)
First of all welcome to the Cross stitch caf! :T
I am currently working on my third ever HAED - which one are you doing?
On to your questions:
1- Swop to whichever fabric you feel comfortable with. If you don't like what you are workign with you are less likely to complete it. I changed my HAED's over to 14ct aida - you can't see anybackground on any of them so it works for me. Plus they end up bigger and still look great
2- I use a lap frame, bought this one from sewand so:
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Plastic-TableLap-Frame---Small__FRH-Small-spc-Table-fslsh-Lap.aspx
I wouldn't be without it now. I roll the excess fabric and pin it at the sides. It leaves me with both hands free to stich, which is much faster.
3- I always start in the centre. With a HAED I lay out all the pages on the floor, make sure they are clearly numbered then I find the page with the centre stitch and start with that. then I will work along to the left and up to the left hand corner and round from there. (As you can see from my progress pics that are around here)
4- Reasonable prices - can't beat accrosstownstitching for threads and fabric I usually get from Sewandso or ebay.

Thanks for the replys much appreciated and for the warm welcome
I do use a pen to mark out the squares but only started using one recently but great advice. I have to finish the dreaded back stitching on my current piece before I start my HEAD which is Sunset http://www.heavenandearthdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3946 .
I like the idea of changing to a fabric i'm more comfortable with but would be worried how large the piece would turn out as on the 25ct its 16" x 24" would like to have wall space for many more projects i have my eye on
I really like the look of that lap frame and may just have to invest in one, I am usually a hoop stitcher!! I am a bit worried about trying to find the centre on this project as the pages are printed back and front - knowing me i'd get in a right mess lol, but i will have a good look at it later.
Thanks for the suggestions for supplies I will get onto them later and order what I need once i've made my mind up on the fabric.
Thanks again
