Okay, update time on my Corrie kit, as the last update was at the end of week 3, way back when lol
Anyways, here is a reminder of what it will look like when finished:

    bl954.jpg

This is the end of week 4, which is dated 16/02/11 so yeah, not done any more since the other day LOL:

The above pic has been re-sized to fit better on the thread.
You can see the more in detail version here (hover over image and click to zoom in).

And here it is at the end of week 5, {which was in fact only 5 hours worth of stitching the other day lol}. Mostly filling in lighter colours so not much of a difference really!:

And click here to see day by day progress in my FB corrie cross stitch album.

I am still worrying about that Air Erasable ink though.
When I noticed it was fading, I would go over the lines and I must have done it about 3 or 4 times, but I haven't needed to do it since the end of week one, so I am hoping that it just needs a good washing for the rest to come out!

Ohhh, of anyone comes across one of these table/lap frames at a better price, please let me know!! Not sure what size would be best???? Maybe 10 or 11 inches in width would work just fine? (It's the Yorkshire in me that requires things to cost a lot less than suggested lol)

Love the Tiger design Ailsb. Glad you found it and are able to complete it for your Dad.

    Soulie. Nice progress.

Thanks for the comments on magnetic boards ladies. I think I'll get one because as hubby pointed out last night I get £15 free a month from my bank accounts so could use that money and think of it as a gift from the Halifax :rotfl:

I've got one attached to the stand and I think it is great. When I am going to a holiday I am taking it with me with the frame (leaving stand behind).

I have looked at the board clamp for the stand and wondered if it holds the board tight enough for me to colour in the chart as I stitch? It looks like it might not stand much pressure and I can imagine the board popping out of the clamp and the air turning blue :D
At the moment I have a clipboard on the arm of the chair and colour the chart in as I go which I couldn't stop doing.

Great progress on the wolves by the way.

to answer someone's post, I recently bought this board with a gift token I got and I really like it. I actually use this board for stitching while on the move (I removed the bit that makes it stands up). At the moment, I'm stitching the mouseloft xmas card kits so I stick the chart to the board with the magnets and then use the firmness of the board to colour in the chart as I go along (i always make mistakes if I don't colour in the chart).

That was another query I had but forgot to mention......how firm is the surface? I too have to colour in as I go but for some reason I think of magnetic boards as being slightly soft and I wouldn't want to have to replace it every so often because I have ruined the surface.

I've got a magnetic board, which I had forgotten about until the great unearthing the other week whilst clearing out the spare room to turn into a craft room. :rotfl:

My board is metal so if you use it to lean on as you colour in it won't get damaged. Hope that helps.

I also get Mr H to pay me £15 a month hadn't thought to use it as a gift to me - what a good idea.

How do you manage to get Mr H to pay you £15 a month!?! He refuses to pay me more than £5!!!

Lovely updates people. Here are mine:

This is the 'Angel In The Making' - I couldn't get a square frame that was cheap enough (yes, whoever mentioned that square frames are not readily available at a cheap price!).

Anyway, picked this on up on a carboot for 80p and brought a tester of pink paint in the N**t sale for £1 then found the teddies to fill thew gap in one of my craft drawers...knew they'd be useful one day!!!

As for the Wizard - I think I told you I mistakenly unpicked it ALL last Tuesday - here's where he's up to now...

    Hope everyone is ok xx

The small one will do you fine - it's the exact one I have and I have managed my HAED's on it (I just pin the excess fabric at the sides)

Haven't seen it cheaper though, I bought mine from sewandso but the price has gone up since then - think mine was about £21-£22

Corrie is coming along great - I really love the detail in the brickwork :T

Chicky - regarding the prizes - I see no problem with you having the Noah one (quite apt, really):D but none of the other designs tempt me at all so I will let others have their bid at them :)

Thanks for your thoughts/advice re leaning on the magnetic board. I am now thinking about just getting a sheet of metal and buying magnets seperately but not sure if will be any cheaper than a proper board as I'll need the edges super smooth.

Thank you for that Doctor Who link, another one added to my 'wish list' :D

No Stop!!!! I may order it in payday. I am sure being Dr Who related it can travel to Derby ;) What with time travel and all :rotfl:
Love your little reindeer PAP - he is soooo sweet. Getting a bit nervous with a this christmas stuff going on mind you :D

:rotfl: BEG, it's not for christmas. It was a cover kit back in 2008 I think, I wasn't stitching then but purchased the mag beacuse I loved the kit. I decided to stitch it last week as I want to frame it for our new house. Just coincidence (sp) that it's christmas cross stitch.

Got sent home early from work today so an extra hour or so stitching for me :T

Must rememeber to carry on reading to the next page. Lovely worrk all, Marru I don't resent you having to stitch all those shade of red. Soulie, now I have a table I am looking at frames, if you search ebay there are some secondhand ones that go for about £5 or less :)

Thank you, I have looked for them elsewhere but no one seems to have them, so I might have to dip in to my birthday money and pay full whack

Yep, the brickwork on Corrie is really detailed! Lots of shades of blue LOL
