I don't think I made myself clear, I would do for the money. However things that take that long you end up hating what you are doing and it becomes a chore. You then hate the whole activity so give it up. Well thats what happen with me regarding my card making. The thing that killed my card making was one wedding, she started just wanting main invites, so gave her a price and off I went. Over the months it grew until I was doing cards (main, reception and thankyou's), placenames, seating plan, rsvp's, menu's and then guestbook. A 10hr max job became a 70+ and she then wouldn't allow me to advertise my business on the back of the cards, which were a condition. I did them for her but then closed my busniess and about 4months later sold all my craft goodies.
I don't want that to happen with my cross stitch as I do love it and I would prefer to do this craft just for me and to give as gifts...
Hope that makes more sense?
Great butterflys btw, do you have an image of the finished peice or have I missed it in the chat?0 -

I do see what you mean but I would still have done it as a one off for that sort of money and not as a business thing. So many pieces of mine go into a box for years that iit would be nice for one to actually be put to use lol
Mind you, you have 'been there, done that' whereas I, and others haven't.
Wonder if it's worth stitching one and sticking it on ebay, it wouldn't take all that long :rotfl::rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. TMIF, lovely design, they look so much like real life. I would love to see it once finished :T
Louise, maybe it's just me and my personallity but I would hate it I know I would. If in a year or two I decide to restitch it and they still want it I would offer it to her but I am not doing it now, not when I want to stitch Alice for me. Also its hard trying to do something like that when you work f/t, if I was still p/t things MAY have been different. Money isn't everything, well not to me anymore anyways
Put it on and see if it goes? I know I see lots of completed work on ebay but I guess it may go better framed. Also aren't there 'ghost stitchers' or something like that? They stitch unfinished/any work for the general public, maybe you can try and get a job with them. May earn you a few pennies, you stitch fast enough :T0 -
I sent a piece to GhostStitchers as I cannot stitch at the moment, they were going to charge me £300 and the stitcher would get £30 of that (friends in the States stitch for them occasionally and they get 10% of the fee MAXIMUM depending on how complex the piece is)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

I know I was somewhat gobsmacked I will confess (and the chart came back filthy with footprints on it , luckily the fabric and threads were fine and one of my friends is going to do it for £50 all in)

Hi ladies.
Was just browsing ebay for cross stitch in general to see what was out there that I didn't know I needed and came across magnetic board and strips.
Does anyone use them to hold their charts whilst stitching and are they worth the money? They aren't massively expensive, depending on size I have found lots for under £20 but just wondered if anyone has an opinion on them.
Thanks!:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0
