Been to booty sale this morning and got a couple of bargains (I think) but not on the scale of yours 23rd. :p On one stall found a large ikea pic in beech frame (about 50cm square) for £1.50 - DH said he would offer £1 - I said 'you can't do that' - he says watch me - man willingly accepted his offer. Bit further round I spied another ikea pic - same frame but different print - asked how much - 50p the woman said - I said done and then told DH he had been :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Wasn't really bothered about the prints themselves but will use frames for xstitching pics even if I decide to buy some new mounts. Don't know whether or not its just me - but square frames don't seem to be as readily available as rectangular ones. Not much other xstitching stuff for sale :( Never mind will just have to keep on the look out.:D

Hello abatha - its a terrible thing to be bitten by the stitchy bug - anyone here will confirm this I'm sure. :D Had a quick look on that urban wotnot site you mention and I'm sure some of those pacman/space invader designs would appeal to my DS. They look a simple idea yet they seem to charge quite a bit for them don't they. Pity I don't have confidence/ability to have a go at drawing them.

Hope everyone is making the most of the weekend.

No BEG its not just you. I was trying to find some small square frames and gave up in the end. Cut my own mount out of card instead and used a frameless clip frame - but I would have prefered a proper frame really :(

Bit of a long shot, but I have just spent the last hour or so 'researching' {AKA looking at cross stitch charts/finished items}, found a nice Yorkshire map I wanna do for my Aunt and Uncle, but I digress, I also found a nice Dalek cross stitch that was apparently from 'Cross Stitcher Magazine, Aug 2008', I don't suppose anyone has a ;);) do they?

:j:j I think I have the dalek!! I'm sure I remember one when doing my inventory on my new stash, as I didn't know how to spell dalek! I'm not on my computer right now, so I'll check my inventory in a bit (*enable smug mode*):D (sorry, we overdosed on Red Dwarf last night :D)

sew n so is a dangerous place to browse :rotfl:

i like this elephant but do you think the elephant's nose is out of proportion?

I also like this one elephant 2 but something doesn't seem right about it ? (the way he is holding the watering can perhaps ?)

and i like this one too bath time but when I was looking for something birthday themed to stitch earlier, I was kind of reminded that I don't actually need any more stitchy stuff for a very long time :rotfl:

oh and while we are on the subject, I like this also winter wonderland but I think it would be one I would never get round to stitching...

I sorted through my mags this morning and dug out all the xmas themed ones. So when I get bored of stitching the mouseloft kits, I can find something else festive to stitch :rudolf: :j

On my spreadsheet, I also have Christmas issues highlighted. OCD is a great thing :D

I tend to buy nice square frames when I see them in CSs or at bootsales, although I did find a really nice recessed one in W1ilkinsons once.

As for the offers, I always barter but I once did the opposite. I was looking for hyacyinth vases (the ones with waists) and I'd bought three at three different cars, each for 50p. I saw another one, asked how much it was and the lady said, 'Oh, er, 10p?' so I said, 'I've already got three and they were 50p each. I think that's the going rate so I'll give you 50p!' :rotfl:
