He is so cute - where do you get items like him - thinking for my new grandnephew doing one, as I can't think of a cross stitch to do for him as yet.

    Thanks

Hope you are all well - now off work for a week and a bit got the hospital and a wee holiday in between, so ready to chill!

    sweetcarer ;)

I bought mine from Sew & So http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Departments/Cross-Stitch-Kits/DMC/Ready-to-Stitch.aspx
    Enjoy your time off :)

Lovely work everyone :T I've filled in one of the areas on the teddy and I'm about to do some more while I watch Torchwood :D

Catchooky, that is a really lovely design, I love how colourful it is :)

Ruth_honey, Somebunny is so cute, I agree they are tricky to stitch, I did one for Emily when she was born

Good luck with your weightloss, I joined Weight Watchers and have lost 8.5lbs in 2 weeks :T I had previously lost 4 stone with Slimming World but my terrible emotional eating meant that most of it has gone back on :o

I never throw any thread away, if it's too short to stitch with I put it in a jar and when it's full I use it as stuffing or I put it outside when the birds are nest building so the ickle baby birds are cosy :rotfl:

I have done some more of the teddy, I can see the end now which is keeping me going!

Thanks! My mum can't understand why I found it so tricky. They are a PITA though! But they do look very cute.

8.5lbs is fab! Well done. :T:j:T

Mine was from a shop in Swindon (which I believe is now closed anyway), but Sew & So have a good range & the Somebunny I did is even cheaper than I paid. Enjoy your holiday!
Finished 'Too Pooped' and stitched a Golden Wedding card for parents for the end of July. Will post photos when I have enough energy to go upstairs and get the camera!

Not been at work all week as I've felt so poorly.

    Started this yesterday afternoon

    http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Shoe-Delight---14-Count-Aida__VER-2720-bslsh-75-prd-208.aspx

Bought it a copy of years ago and think it'll be perfect in the guest bedroom.

Hope you feel better soon. Looking forward to seeing 'Too Pooped'. Always loved that design. :D

    wow some lovely pics!
Alisb - think it was more like a funny looking 'L' , kind of sideways, but I left my stitching at work last night cos I was planning on bath n bed and didnt see the point of dragging all my stuff home to drag it all back in (I stitch on the lunchbreaks of three days a week as thats the only time we get an hour) - will try to post pics of my progress to let u all laugh at my slowness lol
Very excited about the weekend as seeing the bf this weekend :kisses2: and, after a family dinner, this means I can stitch while he plays xbox and i dont feel guilty about leaving other things like house work.......................

actually who am i kidding, I NEVER feel guilty about not doing housework cos of stitching (or anything else for that matter):rotfl:

We also have a public holiday on Monday so guess what I'll be doing :rotfl:

Hope this helps shelly. I think the colours in my pic are closer to the real thing - they are certainly much brighter looking. I must admit though I'm not much cop at this photography lark. :rotfl:

Thanks for the link. I really must get myself a Michael Powell kit at some point, they are really nice.
Think I'll start my xmas wishlist :rotfl:

    those somebunny's aree cute.

I actually got some stitching done last night...... then unpicked half of it...... then ran out of a colour ( but tis ok i had a different one that wouldn't look out of place being used).

well still no sign of a parcel so have sent them
    hi,

I hope you don't think I'm winging but nothings arrived as yet which is concerning for me as you said they were posting on the 30th june......

    cheers,

didn't really think the attempted delivery line would work as postie leaves a card (or mine normally hides parcel/ leavs on back door step) if not in. what is it with cross stitch and the post to my house?? i'm sure my old male postie dosn't have a cross stitch fetish.

on a wooooop note have managed to sell loads of baby stuff this week and today (after months of nothing shifting) and should come away with £100 just for today.

no stitching for me today as childminders on holiday so ds1 at home next 2 fridays.

thart alphabet sounds a good idea Maria.... will pm you if i come up with any good ideas am a trained nursery nurse/ primary teacher so have the benefit of all my old worksheets/ teaching books.

Blue-eyed-girl - I hadn't realised that your cottage was a Michael Powell design, it's looking good.

Chicky (and any one else interested) - I've had notification of another free listing weekend of ebay. I'm going to sort out some kits that I no longer want and try to list them. If anyone wants to know what I have pm me and I can let you know.

Off to do more in the bedroom now (that's not how it sounds) I'm making very slow progress on getting everything away tidiliy. In fact it's at the stage where it looks worse than when I started.

Hugs bikerchick - hope you're feeling a bit better when you've had some rest. Congratulations to your parents on their 50th anniversary coming up soon. Any celebrations planned?? Love those legs btw - now, where have I seen them before - certainly not in my mirror thats for sure :rotfl:Look after yourself and make sure you are getting plenty of rest.

    Take care everyone.

Thanks to everyone for their hugs and good wishes. I've actually been to work today for 5 hours, not a full day, but didn't want to be worrying all weekend about how much I'd have to do. Feel much happier now sitting on the sofa with wet toe-nails :rotfl:

Mum and Dad are having a party for friends and family and my brother is coming over from Oz for three weeks!! I haven't seen him since I last visited in 2006 and he hasn't met DH yet so very excited about that.

I'd forgotten all abot the 'legs' kit until we were in the car a few weeks ago listening to Radio 4! There was a guy being interviewed who does alternative urban cross stitch and DH said he thought cross stitch and burlesque would go together well. Then I remembered I had that kit and another one of a lady in basque and stockings sitting at a dressing table. Rummaged through my stash when we got home and that was my next two kits lined up :)
