Phew finally managing to catch up on about a weeks worth of posts - so sorry if its a bit out of date now

Don't worry PAP as long as everything is ok with you. Take care of yourself :)

Love your wedding sampler chicky :)

Your stitching mags_cat looks nice and autumny - go girl - bet its done in time for autumn :D. Love tenby harbour btw and that MP wedding sampler. Typical over the last couple of years we've had a few weddings in the family but all is quiet on that front at the moment.

Your little bags look very pretty Keiss 21 :)

The caravan couple look so sweet Judellie - I'm sure your neighbour will love it too :D Mums ochids look effective too.

Blackwork owl kit-if it's the one I'm thinking of, I've started it but have no idea where it is! I have finished the rocking horse in that range though. I quite enjoy blackwork & it seems so quick to do.

    Edited to add-this one??? http://www.x-calibredesigns.co.uk/html/blackwork_starter_kits.html

Thats the little fella im thinking about Ruth - find him so appealing. :D

Hi all - not had the best of weekends (understatement), have kept up with reading the thread but haven't been able to bring myself to type anything.

My Dad got his results on Friday and it was the bad news we were expecting. The tumour is large and it's definitely cancer. :( He goes in on Wed for another CT scan and they will be starting him on chemo after that. They need to shrink it before they can operate and apparently they need to cut from the front of his chest right round to the back (no idea why?) so it's a 9 months recovery period from that for him :(

I feel so awful for him, but the last thing he wants from any of us sympathy and he won't talk about it yet - he is carrying on as if everything is normal, bless him. It's the same illness his Dad died from in November, so none of us are surprised he is somewhat in denial, and who can blame him. The main difference is that my Grandfather was too old for the treatment, whereas my Dad does have a fighting chance.

I have been keeping myself as busy as possible, hubby had a friend visiting over the weekend, which wasn't ideal but had been planned for ages and I am stitching some inspirational sayings, still small things but pretty.

Hope everyone else has a good week

suzitiger - hi, I've tried a google but no luck i'm afraid. I second asking your library, or don't some of the c-s mags have listings in the back??
failing that teach yourself (tis pretty easy), come here and ask qustions (nearly 5 years on I still can't do french knots) and eat cake :D without having to leave the sofa.

here's a good linky although most magazines also have instructions in. and if you get one with a cover kit then thats £5 to see if you like it or not before you stash. whistle.gif

my friends c-sec is booked in today so have baby's name and d.o.b stitched on her sampler and all the details from her first born so just waiting on a time and weight.

unpicked a load of palace last night as had done it wrong ....am beginning to get fed up as it never seems to progress.

well both boys decided 5.30 was a nice time to get up this morning and mr selective hearing didn't hear either...even with them screming in his ear!!!!!!!!! come onnnnnn 9am i may as well go out early to get cross stitch crazy as i'm awake. if anyone lives in the back of beyond and want me to pick one up you know where i am (will be here till about 8.45) and i have to go post office tomorrow.

ohhh **excited** i haven't bought myself a cross-stitch mag since father christmas got me one....apart from margaret sherry bookzinne.
am selling some old mags with thigs i'll never stitch in at £1.50 a pop (including p&p) so if anyone wants a list lemmie know.

Louise, I don't post here often, but lurk, and I kind of knew when you didn't post that it must be bad news. I wish your Dad all the best in the world and hope that the treatment works, and for you and the rest of your family, be gentle on yourselves because this is tough. xx
