What would people prefer.....do you want me to:
a) send them the kits and tell them to 'do what they wish'
b) ebay em and see what they make
c) compose a list of what we get, scour the internet for the best current selling price, then post a list here of what there is with a reduced price (say 20%-25% cheaper then best online and sell them on a first come first saved basis then do (b) or (a) with any leftovers.
d) something else...........what??
personally I like (c).......but only incase I see something i like in there
ohhh and have updated the member numbers.....haven't I been a busy bee.....but on that note hubby has switched the PS3 on so i think i will abandon him with tinywiggle and go to bed.
Chicky have quoted your last post but want to say firstly how nice your reply to the mag is. It's taken you a lot of time and effort to pull it all together :T.
With regards to what to do with any kits I think C would work. Is there any method people may know about where we could do the sale in a way in which the proceeds can make something for charity - a bit like gift aid? Just a thought but if anyone does know it could make a bit more for whatever charity is decided on.
On a personal note I don't really have a major problem with any charity getting funds but I would prefer this to be a charity for humans rather than animals. I love animals but I think there are so many human charities in need of money that they should be prioritised.
I apologise if the above upsets anyone. I really don't wish to offend but wanted to explain my thoughts.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

Chicky - what a great compilation of info :T Thank you for the bit about my HAED - you must have went hunting for that extra info lol
With regards to the prize, I think c) and then b) would be good options to go with. It would be nice for some cafe members to perhaps get a little something, and money raised from that to go to charity. That's a win win situation in my book :TCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. :T Wow chicky - thats some work you've done there - especially with two little ones. Sorry to be a complete and utter pain but I couldn't see my number on the list (apol if I have missed it).
I like the idea of c then b - if that is of any help.
Got a couple of stitching spells in yesterday and made a start on the new kit :j. Hope I can maybe manage a couple today too.
Looks quite nice out this morning. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone whatever you are up to.

Wow a lot of hard work has gone into the magazine reply it had me with tears in my eyes!
Like lots of people have said I use this group because I really can not talk to new people and even find it hard to post here but I am gradually getting used to it, that and having three children aged 3,2 and 1 means getting out of the house to do something for me can be hard.
Its also somewhere that I can enjoy my hobby with people that like to talk about the same things as me no one I know in the 'real world' is as interested in these things as people here.
On that note does anyone have any suggestions for a wedding sampler thats fairly modern looking my brother has been abroad and got married in secret last week so I would like to stitch something for him but everything I am coming up with is a bit too flowery, fancy for his and his new wifes tastes
I am off to search for christmas stocking designs now that are just charts since I have more threads, aida etc than I need and can't afford the price of the kits I have found if anyone knows any sites for them or has any suggestions I am open to them too
take care everyone0 -

Hi again everyone
It's been ages since I've posted but I've been lurking every now and then. When this thread gets too fast I just can't keep up!
Well done Chickywiggle for your letter to the magazine, that must have taken a lot of time to compose but it looks great and it gives them all the info they need to write the article.
I've not been stitching much recently as my circumstances have changed quite a bit. You may all remember that my husband left in September and I struggled to finish the huge Santa that I started for him. With your help I finished it as a testament to my ability to get on with life and as a tribute to all of you. I started a giraffe project (http://www.mariescrossstitch.co.uk/products.asp?partno=DI13665, though don't worry, I didn't spend that much on it) and I'm about halfway down mummy Girraffe's neck having started at the top of her head.
I've got lodgers living in my house with me now, to make sure I can pay the mortgage, and I don't feel as comfortable stitching in the lounge for long periods of time now. I'm feeling inspired though so perhaps I'll try bringing all my stuff upstairs and will see if I can find a comfortable position to stitch in my room in private.
I think I need to update my signature, but I'll have a think about my goals first.
p.s. I think that 'C' is a great idea for the prize. Maybe ask the charity if they'd prefer 'A' or 'B' as a secondary thing though. If we're going with Bridge because they helped Bubbles then maybe they'd prefer 'A' so they can donate the kits to individuals who will benefit from them rather than using them to generate money? just a thought...0 -
Hi Chicky,
I love the reply you have concocted out of all the responses - its brilliant! I'd happy to agree to c too, I don't know whether this would work using payment via a 'just giving' page? I think this would include the gift aid thing but don't know how you actually work it I just know a few people that have used it when doing sponsored runs etc as it keeps all the money in one place.
Thanks for adding me to the list :j:T:j:T:j:T:j
It looks like a beautiful sunny day outside so I'm thinking perfect to sit and do a bit more of my bookmark
I've also just recieved a new project I need to start as a birthday present for my mum in a few months but I'd have to hide somewhere to do it so she doesn't know which design I decided on :rotfl: hmmmm my dad's shed seems a good option......
