36 is very young for a hysterectomy! Even if you don't want babies, there're all the menopause type things to deal with. Saying that, it's a horrid op, and the younger you have it, the more easily you'll get over it. Do you want sprogs?

I'm not sure (still!) but I want to have the option to, until I'm sure I don't ;)

I love how this thread can divert!

Well, for once I'm glad that I'm 55 and past all that pahlaver ! I went through the "change" at 45 and it was such a relief from the pain and moodiness. Luckily I've had very few symptoms since, fingers crossed.

    Hi all!
Just got back from Hobbycraft because I wanted to spend a voucher I've had in my purse since christmas. The only thing that Hobbycraft inspired me to do was to shop somewhere cheaper! :rotfl: It's gotten SO expensive in there. In the end I bought 2 storage boxes for my fabrics. Want to keep any mice from eating my evenweave!!! So now I'm gonna sit down with a cider & rearrange my fabric into the new boxes.:T

Many years ago I wrote to Cross Stitch Crazy and asked them how you can work out how long a design will take to stitch. They wrote back and said (if I remember correctly) that on average - one square inch of cross stitch will take you about one hour (but colour changes/complexity of design could vary this)

How long would you say it takes to stitch something? I am always intrigued when the mags say a design will take say two weeks to do because I know it would take me much longer ! I guess they are working on the basis that you would do several hours a day for that two week period ?

wow, that's a very large diversion! shall i add my 2p worth too, just to be friendly!

i'm 30 and on the injection. i haven't had a period since, my moods have stabliased and i dont get cramps anymore! the downsides for me are headaches, sometimes quite bad, the day of/after the injection, and i've put weight on that i cannot shift
i've been on it for about 5 years as my blood pressure got too high for the normal pill (the 7 days off one), i cant cope with the 'take every day at the exact same time' pill as i'm fairly hopeless with that sorta planning & organisation (blame the dyslexia). the nurse wouldnt give me the implant as i'm in "ideal childbearing years". erm?
~ 1 friend got pregnant on the injection but very shortly after her first jab after a miscarrage so her hormones were all over the place i guess.
~ 1 friend got pregnant on the patch. (other than that it sounds good but it's expense for the surgery so many doctors dont even mention it! maybe whoever first asked this question could look into the patch?)
~ and i have 2 very lovely cousins who came along AFTER my uncle had the snip after his first 2 chidren were born. we say he was born to breed!

Can I ask a serious question??? How are any us finding time for any 'bedroom activities' when we're so busy stitching??? Surely that's the best contraception around for us! "Hang on darling, I've just got to finish this section of green, then I'll be in..." Two hours later & he's fast asleep anyway! ;)

I've reorganised my fabric with the new boxes, yet somehow I've ended up with less space than before...Hmmm...
I now have a huge box with aida & evenweave in. The new larger box has towels, afghans and the backing fabric for the christmas quilt in. The smaller new box has my hand dyed evenweave in, but now there's no space for the box with the 'fancy' threads, or the DVD's that were on the shelf (but they need to go away properly anyway). I still need another smaller box to fill the gap behind the thread boxes too. On the plus side, the Gold Concept (waste of money-don't bother!) files are easier to get to now, so I might actually be able to put the DMC threads away properly instead of chucking them in a 'to be put away when I get chance' box! I have a mug that says "never put off til tomorrow what you can avoid doing completely". That SO sums me up! LOL!

I leave you lot alone for a couple of days and find what a diverse conversation/thread.

My tuppence for what its worth. I have PCOS, got diagonised at 27, got told I would probably never have kids, soul destroying as I would like to have them, hubby had a genetic condition so they were unsure if they would give us IVF and I am overweight (due to the PCOS). I am now don't have periods - I am on Femulen. I still get a little emotional about kids. New hubby is soso about them as he was adopted and his first wife lost their only one. I guess I never will as I am still overweight and now diabetic. !!!! i',m crying.

    Hiope all is well
