Well, a lovely new thread.
Sorry not been around much though I have been reading and loving all your projects.
I finally finished my daughters Christmas stocking at 7.50pm on Christmas eve. It only took 7 months!!!
Can't seem to post the picture direct, though I used to be able to, but here is a link to see it on my facebook page.

Hi all, Ive been lurking around MSE for a while, but only recently started posting. I didn't even realise there was a cross stitch cafe!! So was pleasently surprised to find it. I am a Mirabila fan, any others here??? Im just finishing Deepest Love (adding the beads), and about to start Fairy Flora. Ive been cross stitching for years and years andd years and...................... well 19!
My favourite site is Sew and So and have used it for ages for many of my supplies, although I do get lots of my charts from Ebay.
Anyway just though I'd say hi and hope everyone had a fantastic christmas.:j:):jI am a bankruptcy survivour (10 years ago). It does get easier.:j:):j

Hi Pinkruth and welcome. We're a friendly bunch and we'd love to see pictures of your stitches.
I just finished my first biscornu yesterday. I'm not all that impressed with it to be honest but I only did it as a little project with no chart that I made up as I went along on the train and in short breaks at work. It's now stuffed with lavender and will shortly be making it's way into my under stairs cupboard in an attempt to freshen it up a bit. I'll take a pic before it dissapears into the abyss though.0 -
Hi ladies.
Just popped on quickly while hubby is getting dressed...
Welcome Pinkruth, always nice to have new members
I got stitchy presents yesterday but no surprises, I knew what they all were long ago. I got my floor stand and a kit from hubby and 6 kits from my parents.
I got some cash too and I am already having to work hard on not spending it on even more kits.....I really do have more than enough to keep me going for years but when I see charts like the Christmas Calories one Ruth posted on the old thread.....it's really hard!! :rotfl:
Also I am very pleased that my cold seems to finally be easing off! Felt really rough first thing yesterday but today it seems much better.
Have a nice days ladies....might check back in later if I can get on the pc at my parents:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Hi! I did post on the old thread a few months ago, but would like to join in properly in 2011.
I am going through my stash of stuff to decide what my next project is going to be and will then set my challenge.

Happy boxing day everyone - dh is at work so the rest of us are having a very lazy day till we head to in-laws for tea. Muppet that he is he has left his car sat on the road for the past few days and not turned the engine over and now it is dead as a dodo so he has nicked mine (left me a note to say so cos it was an early start) So some of the £ from Santa will have to go on a new battery probably ( he confessed that it has been dodgy for a while).
Stitching wise I want to get my Michael Powell started and aim to get the chapel window done by the end of January - not sure if link will work but fingers crossedhttp://www.michaelpowellart.co.uk/onlineshop/productdetail.aspx?os20catid=2&os20parentid=1&os20type=&os60groupid=1&os60type

Right this year am determined to keep on track with my stitching and try and not let work and OH get in the way so much. (Hard I know but think I will send a kit with him back to Spain so when I visit I have sewing to do there rather than the faff with airports and needles.)
Have more UFOs than you can imagine, as my gran died so inherited some from her and my great aunt is no longer able to sew so finsihing off her stuff though my mum has stolen one before it got to be on the fact that I already have a tablecloth to finish LOL.
Aim for the year: Finish the tablecloth off that was to be my grans xmas present this year
Right January Aim: Finish the cushion cover off (only hideous french knots to do) (however this is embroidery - I seem to be better at this than x stitch for some reason). Finish the doves cover kit and the xmas card kits from crossstitcher. Think thats ambitious enough this month.0 -

I have had a nice day stitching chester the cat (the middle cat in my row of cats design) and watching columbo. :j more of the same tomorrow ! I will try to post an update on Tuesday by which time I should have finished Chester - just his head now and collar and the back stitch
I had family round tonight - cooked a curry which was really easy - just left it on the hob simmering away meaning plenty of time to stitch.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how nice you all are here. I follow the grocery challenge thread and the sealed/virtual pot thread and everyone is nice on those threads also but I have been visiting other threads recently and there are some strange posters. Think I will steer clear from now on and just stick with the cafe here. I'm having a nice diet coke. what are you all having ?? and what are your stitching plans for tomorrow ?0
