Emma - that work is amazing! I'm battling with gold thread at the moment on my Kingfisher. I've found use short lengths - no more than 12" but be prepared to lose at least 3" at the end where it's all frayed and messy. I also found Thread Heaven helpred a bit - you run the thread along it and it coats it to make it stitch more smoothly :)

...Only a quick one today as I'm about and hour away from finishing Kingfisher but I've so much to do and all I actually WANT to do is curl up and sleep :(

Shelly - great news about your dad.

Got the first of my 3 for £1 Cross Stitchers today - the tin broke as soon as I opened it up! ...When you cancel the trial do you just cancel the direct debit or do you contact them as well. Also, do you have to wait until you've had all 3 or can you do it after one and still receive the other 2? ...Sorry for all the questions - just don't want to forget and get stuck paying a subscription for a year.

  • You have to email/ring them and tell them you want to cancel - i just said I didn't like it (I had Simply Knitting, and it was a bit pants imho). I can't remember when you do it - maybe after 3rd incase they don't send you it.

I wonder if my CS and WOXS are on their way to me. I find CS gifts rubbish, but WOCX is much better quality. Decent needles, threads etc

and my HEAD which is hurting my hands with all the material!!
Some great pics there :) Wow that is alot of fabric for your HAED, when i stitched my lions i found it easier to roll the excess then clamp it with clothes pegs (or bulldog clips if you have some). Maybe a larger frame might help, like the R&R clip frames or a roller frame??

Sorry for the long post and for butting in. I don't have the opportunity to post often so I don't feel I can belong here but I love seeing your work and one of these days I'll set up a flickr account so I can share some of mine.
We'll have none of that, whether you post 10 times a day or once a month you are still part of the cafe :D Oh and a handy thing i didn't know about flickr, if you already have a yahoo email account you can just use that :)

It is an awful lot of fabric, i'm going to have to find something other than the hoop, but I have never used anything other than a hoop so not quite sure what would be best to try. Thank you for your suggestions I will go and have a google.

Get yourself a lap frame :D I completed my HAED's on it easilym you can roll the fabric into place as suggested by nmm but there's no weight in your hands. Plus you can stitch with both hads and it saves on wrist movement. Sewandso sell them :)

Thanks a lot for that I have looked at them but still don't know if it will hold all that material, its really huge the square I have marked out is only 1 page and theres 44 of them lol. I worry that I won't be able to roll all the material on to it iyswim.

Nonsense, you are a cross-stitcher and that is all you need to come in here and chat with us. some people post more than others, but please don't let that put you off.
