also treated myself to the cross-stitch favourites baby special if anyone wants any ;);) hubby said "HOW MUCH??!!" when I said it was £4.99 but i not bought one since xmas..... then he told me his cigs (pk of 20 which last a couple of days) cost £6 a time so he can b****y talk!!!!

I don't need any excuse to buy cross stitch related items whether it be a magazine or a kit :rotfl:I think the kits are relatively good value when you think how much enjoyment you get out of stitching them and cross stitching helps me relax so argument over ! and if you happen to buy the mag in the supermarket then it appears on your bill (if paid by debit card) as ??? shop so that was food shopping :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Is anyone familiar with the cross stitch designs that apppear in Origin's magazines designed by Durene Jones ? She seems to feature quite a lot in these magazines but a couple of her designs that I really like are her lovable cat designs featured in a previous issue of Cross Stitch Card Shop and the same cats but christmas themed in another issue (issue 68 I think). When I get home I will post exact issue numbers.

Does anyone remember seeing these cats in either World of Cross Stitching or Cross Stitch Crazy ? I really like the designs and want to stitch them all !

Also re these cats, Cross Stitch Card Shop have said which retailer they got the card blanks from (name escapes me but its something like inspirations? but when i was looking yesterday, it appeared this company had gone out of business - does anyone know anywhere good to get card blanks other than Craft Creations?

in stitching news - a very quiet weekend ahead - so plan to settle down with my stitching as much as possible :D

Hello there! This thread has been suggested to me by some bods elsewhere on MSE... so... here I am! I LOVE cross stitch, but I do lots and lots of other crafts as well... currently doing a quick coaster for a friend of mine for her birthday next week. I will post up piccies when I am done with it... I started it at lunch time today, and I hope to get it done tomorrow sometime... though I might not. Depends on how much time I spend "playing" with my new sewing machine!! :D

I came to cross-stitch in 1997 when I had my first nervous breakdown. It was prescribed as occupational therapy while I recovered and I have never looked back really! After mastering cross stitch and tapestry, I have branched out into other embroidery stitches, patchwork, quilting, crochet and other bits and pieces as well!

You guys do some beautiful things... they all look gorgeous!! Now i have introduced myself... I might go back to the start and begin reading!! :D

i find stitching really helps with managing my times of depression. I also to embroidery, patchwork and quilting, and dabble in papercrafts too. i can knit but not well, and have never tried crochet. are you in the sewing forum here too? i am, but have had my machine packed away for so long anticipating a move i've not been there in months.

yep. i'm totally stuck with fear on it, fear of getting the lettering wrong. i am pleased with how pretty it looks though. i'm just scared of messing it up!
    - how'd you make the keyrings? are they the plastic canvas? i need a new one for the new house!

shelly - the sampler looks so lovely, i'm sure they'll adore it.
