  • I'm another who uses the sofa as an organiser lol! My chart is forever falling on the floor and I get so annoyed. I then chuck it all on a little corner table between 2 sofas once I've stopped sewing.

maria I tried sewing in bed once, but I dropped the needle and couldn't find it anywhere. After 20 minutes of searching I couldn't find it so I assumed it must've fallen on the floor or something and got another one out. Hubby 'found' it when he got in bed though :rotfl::rotfl: Lucky it wan't too sharp! I've never dared sew in bed again.

    23rdspiral I like your organiser, that's a good idea.

While stitching my sofa looks like kezs and Louises pretty much. Threads and scissors to one side of me, chart on a clip board on the arm of the chair the other side. Once I am done for the day it gets put away in a drawer until next time. I only put it away because I am clumsy and it's likely I would spill something on my charts, threads etc :D
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • I don't use an organiser either, I have one of the daylight lamps with the divided tray at the base, so scissors, highlighter and pin cushion go in there. When I've finished stitching I put chart, threads, fabric and hoop/frame in the drawer of the coffee table. I do have a touch of ocd so everything has to have a place!

ooh, i like that! (well thats what i thought when i saw it last night..)

...now i've remembered i've actaully made something Very similar!
Come to think of it, I've got instructions too for an over arm organiser in my Needlecraft magics. I'll try and remember to find it and take a picture for you all, in case someone wants a nudge.

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one to use their settee seats for organising their current project bits and bobs. :o
  • I'm another one that uses the settee, although I am quite lucky as I can leave it all spread out when I go to bed as we haven't any little people running around yet, and the dog doesn't bother with it.

Haven't done a lot of stitching yesterday or this morning as I feel quite sick. Only 10 more weeks to go, but I really believe I will go early. I have been having pains in my side and a sore head for a few days now, and a niggly pain in my back. Have been feeling sick and also have actually threw up a few times.

I know some people on here think I stitch quick but I really don't. The reason I got the stocking done so quick was because I was stitching for maybe 15 hours a day....not allowed to work and hubby won't let me do anything round the house, so have nothing else to do apart from stitch.

Hope everyone is feeling well and enjoying their stitching...xx
    ;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)
  • You will have a little one running about soon ;)

  • Stitched my first purple heart last night. Got home from work at 11.30pm, h2b on nights so decided to stitch one in bed, just to see what they're like. Seemed like a good idea at the time....... until my alarm went off at 7 o'clock.

Helllo - I remember you (and your HAED design);) Welcome back. What was the other craft that enticed you away lol?:j

H louise :D Oh yes Alice that I haven't even started yet alone completed! Ahh I was dong other crafts alongside stitching in 2009 it just didn't take over, then in 2010 decided to quill/AJ/draw more. Of course those supplys take up much more room than stitchng. I still have my qulling supplys and pencils but everything else has gone, went from a 2 double bed room to a single bedroom :o
