OH keeps looking across at me and laughing, when I've got my frame infront of me, he says I look like I'm in a pulpit!
He's happy this cross stitch has taken over my life at the moment though, means he gets the laptop all to himself!0 -

Had mice in my first home when I moved to Swindon, the scrabbling noise in the kitchen terrified me! We caught them though.
My last house had a bit of scrabbling in the loft above my bed! Couldn't sleep well that night, woke my ex up to go and have a look. Luckily they had gone after that.
I kept saying that I wouldn't mind them being there if they didn't make noise!0 -

Get some wire wool to fill any gaps around pipes or small holes anywhere. Apprently mice hate it & won't chew through it. Think we'll have to get our chimney blocked up. Went out for a ride on my bike to Costco-partly to get something to eat in the cafe! Got some posh chocs for hubby & bought him some nice rolls & ham for his lunches. He came home tonight to find his mum has had another fall.
she's ok & not staying in hospital but it's still not good to come home to hear that.

No offence but all this talk of mice has made me chuckle! Our cat brings me live ones in that I have to save - hubby won't let me keep them though!!! :-(
Not got time to post any pics tonight as I'm supposed to be helping build some shelves.
Hugs to everyone for now xxxCross Stitch Cafe 2011 - no 58 :A

hi everyone, i got loads done on the Lemon Bowl last night, so the end is in sight now.:) i feel so slow compared to some, but enjoy just plodding on so thats ok.
Sorry to hear about all the mice troubbles. i opened our under the skin cupboard one day to find a cute little mouse sitting on top of the bin looking at me. my OH stuffed the gap around the pipes with chicken wire and bubble wrap and we move the bin out of the cupboard and never heard from them again. whilst i wouldnt want the mess, disease, wee or ick from traps, i do hope that little fella was ok.Apocasaver wrote: »Reading 23rdspiral's post has made me hungry. Caroline, those stockings are lovely :j You stitch so quickly!
I have not done any stitching all week. still waiting for my new disney charts to come from the US. I'm getting very impatient now!
spent my afternoon/evening fighting with my sewing machine instead and made a bed for my friends dog!
All the talk of mice has made me remember my first flat. It was a total dump - holes everywhere. We had been to a fair one night (we have a fair in Hull every year) and w had bought nugget and a Mr Tom nut bar. We wanted to watch a film in bed and took our snacks with us. I woke up in the middle of the night to a mouse on my bedside table with a handful of my mr Tom bar in its little hands munching away :eek: It looked at me as if it wanted to say "what?" :rotfl::rotfl:
I dont like having mice in the house but I couldnt harm them so we ended up catching them all and taking them to fields miles away and blocking up all the holes0 -
We did try humane traps first off but they wouldn't go near them. After several sleepless nights I wasn't in any state to protest the other traps. I don't like it but I also don't like them eating my food and doing their business all over my house!
We hadn't seen any for about 14 months & although my guard wasn't totally down, it was a shock.
Poor mum had mice in the garage a while ago. She realised after she found her Ferraro rocher chocs had been nibbled! Also nibbled at a top she'd bought me. They love those wheat/lavender heat wraps, by the way, so if you have those, keep it inside a tub or tin when not using it. This is why my cross stitch kits are kept in a plastic box with a lid! In fact I should do that with my fabric box. It's up high but no lid and mice will climb. Safeguard your stash!!!!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
