It's quite strange seeing people's ages on here. Most of my friends think cross stitch is for the mature person and can't understand why I bother with it. Yet that stereotype seems totally wrong as so far most seem to be around their 30s. (I'm 27 by the way, but feel at least 35!!)

i'm surprised there's so many 'young' people too... but then one of my best mates stitches, a 27ish work colleage does, and 2 old uni mates also do (and one of those is a Copper, so it goes to show you never can tell!). Actually since i've been mentioning at work and on FB, people have been 'coming out of the closet', including a 'typical' lovely middle aged lady only today. whoop! seems like we're the new knitting!

oh, and i might as well say that whilst i did a bit when a kid (sampler, plastic keyrings, & plastic cottage that i'm still dead chuffed with), i really only picked it up again a year ago when i wanted to make a mothers day card.

right i'm gonna get off this computer and stitch something!

I turn 34 in September :o Someone on the radio recently said that he found it horrible turning 34 because that meant he had to tick the 34 - ?? box on those survey type things - instead of the 18 - 34. He said it made him feel old :rotfl:

Actually, when I get asked how old I am or when I ask myself ?!! I have to think about it !! which proves interesting if I ever get asked for ID ! because they then think I'm a bit suspect and of course then I have to show ID. I think once your special birthdays have been and gone 18th / 30th etc then birthdays are just like any other day albeit you get presents and cards and I never feel any different ?? When I found out the day I was actually meant to be born on, this has turned into my second birthday - so I'll go up a year when its my birthday and down a year when its the day I was meant to be born on, oh and i don't like 34, so lets say I'm 28 :rotfl:

I've finished work for the week so a long weekend which means cross stitch and reading extravaganza :j:j:j oh and a tiny bit of housework thrown in !!

Feel the need for a little dance now seeing as she's taken 9 month to do ...
9 Months sounds really quick, looking at how much stitching there has had to be for that. :D

    Thank you.
We're hoping for nice weather too, especially as the church is quite small and probably only seats about 100 or less and we are expecting a full house, so if anyone has to stand outside during the service, it would be nice for them to stay dry!

Bad Louise for putting ideas in to my head

Edited to add in, BTW. I'm 32, and have been stitching properly for about 10 years, since my son was about 2ish, I think!

2uge4p4.gif whoopie! (um, do you also have no 26 - gingham heart? i couldnt find a pic of that one).

    Having trouble with 26

The way the cards are done, they are divided according to themes, then numbered within each section. So Samplers 26 = Kitchen table, Floral 26 = Ivy leaf etc

Does it have a section name labelled on the pack at all?

    Hello all,

I love the Thomas Kinkade disney pics - I think they're stunning.

I'm after some help actually, if no-one minds? I'm looking for a chart (or kit if not too expensive) that would fit a card: I don't mind it being a decent sized card, and am willing to work on up to 18 count aida. I'm looking for something library / books / reading themed. I hope someone can help! Thanks all xx
