    Hi ladies.

No stitching done today as we went to our nearest Ikea to get frames for the fairies I stitched for Mums 60th and then onto Lakeside. Was a long way to go (2 hours) but was a day out and I got the frames I wanted so was worth it.
Also from Ikea we got some pretty little vases and fake daisy like flowers to go in the hallway on top of the rad cover/cabinet. Was really pleased because we have been looking for something to go in the space for months but couldn't find anything. Seems when we aren't looking, we find something.

Pennib. I love the cupcake! Looks good enough to eat.

Ruth. Really like the Queen Anne house and your SAL is coming along great.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:

Hi Ladies (and gents - not sure if there are any). May I join you please?

I started cross stitching more years ago than I like to think about, at least 25 years ago. I am married with a 12 year old son. I have loads of UFO's and kits/charts that are waiting to be started. My oldest UFO is one that I started when I was 30 weeks pregnant with my son:

I will try to take a photo of it and show you how much I still have to complete. I used to stitch with my mum but she died suddenly just over 5 years ago and I haven't been able to pick up any works since. I did however inherit all of my mum's kits so probably have enough in stock to last me until I am 210.

I stumbled on this forum about a week ago and have read through it all. All your lovely work and words of encouragement has insired me to pick up a needle again. Will probably try something small so that I don't get discouraged before I conitnue with my sons "Christening" picture.

Anyway enough for now, I hope you will have me.

Ailsb; Nice to 'meet' you. That kit looks lovely. I have a L&L chart of a little girl that keep meaning to do. Wow, 210yrs you will have a lot of stitching under your belt by then!! Always good to start something small to ease yourself back into stitching, especially if its a piece that's so personal to you.
  • :wave:Hi Ails, pull up a chair.

well no stitching for me tonight  been spending the entire evening listing DS's trackmaster Thomas stuff on ebay (if anyone is interested) as he REALLYY doesn't need that + brio + all the take along thomas stuff. now ebay has crashed (i can't log in at all) but its now tooo late to move my bum and pick up the stitching.

Made a nice few quid today by selling some duplicate books from a freecycle bundle on ebay this week and another stand alone thomas play set of DS's. Have already mentally spent the money...... but resisted temporarily and put the thomas money in my £365 pot :p. yuck that i have to go queue at the post office tomorrow to send them off!!
Am off to go see what new shops meadowhall has in store this year, have only found out today they have a lakeland (plastics) store now open....... dear god i'm turning into my mother!! But my sister wanted some double sided cutters for xmas which i couldn't get in time, found they are the cheapest place (and tram fare is cheaper then postage so fingers crossed)...... that and i promised DS a tram ride this weekend and I'll have to feel the wrath of an angry 2 year old if we don't. Honestly he knows what he wants. He woke up this morning and the first words weren't "mummy"..... oh noooo..... they were "i need cake and tea".

I almost finished the cabbage and baby last night (will post a pic tomorrow) and will be picking up my cut-thru tomorrow night (again willl post an update pic then).

Seriously, hope you are feeling better by now, there are some nasty colds and viruses around atm.

I've had a cold since friday afternoon aswell, I swear someone just flicked a switch somewhere coz I was fine in the morning!! I've phoned in work, didn't go down well but considering I've been unwell with either a cold or ear infection for 24 days in a row now i dont care i need a break!

Take care and enjoy your stitching everyone, I've got my hot water bottle and my tissues and I'm going back to bed!

    Morning all
Hope your weekends were good? I can see a few people have been busy stitchers..
I managed to start the wedding record...well actually managed to get in around 12 hours stitching so I'm over 2/3 way through it LOL. Was planning on busy weekend but turned out to be relaxed.

Wondering what can be my feb challenge now.. Atuin onviously but need something else to break it up a bit..any ideas? wondering if I should start doing Christmas cards now.. or am I getting ahead of myself? I don't do easter cards or anything like that.

I quit smoking yesterday (due to the fact I have no money for fags:rotfl:) so I am looking to keep my hands as busy as possible at home!

    nannon xx
