Picture rant .... ~blush~

I like the way the chap talking to lovely mike says to his wife "how much was it? 25?"
Occasionally I'll do that in Asda over the price of cheese, but if I was phoning up for a consolidation loan (nooooo!) I hope I'd know the amount I was after without having to ask Mr Biker again...0 -
Nothing to do with Picture Loans but....I was offer a consolidation loan over the phone once from CFC Finance (or someone like that) when my debts where a lot higher. Woman on the other end almost suckered me in.
They offered it to me because I had a 'limited' edition print put by for my OH one year. I was paying it off monthly on the sly and there was not extra interest charge. I paid it off in time for xmas without missing a payment and because of this I'd demonstrated sound financial savvy and an ability to control my finances (then why was I in debt?).
This woman was good with the sales patter and I was almost hooked until I asked the question 'whats the %apr for a loan then'? - answer 28.9% (something like that). Unfortunately I can't print what I said to the poor old girl but they never rang me up again.
I also hate the Picture Loan advert as well.
Cheers

they drive me mad!!!!!....and what angers me the most is that it is the people with the least financial acumen (ooh that's a new word...I'll have to look that up...but I'm sure it means what I think it does;) )...or those that are in the most financial cahcah (aka !!!!.....).....that they hit the most........those of us who have become a bit more savvy (sorry....images of johnny depp in pirates of the caribbean just leaped in there!whoar!:D )...think what a load of !!!!!!!! these adverts are...
But speaking as the Aunt of one nephew who got sucked in.....they rely on naivity (SP?)...bless him...poor nephew thought he was doing the right thing..sorting things out for himself.....then my sis found out....(also an accountant.....no doubt a much better one than I am!)....and....well....lets say when she told this company that she was dealing with her son's debts from now on there was not much argument....and I know why.....people see me as a bit of a rottweiller....I have NOTHING on her!:D0 -
For me, I think the worst has to be Bev and Kev from the AA loan advert. Not only does it play on the "I want it now" so let me have it philosophy (not save then have your new car, that way your not still paying for it two years after the damned thing went to the scrap yard) it also implies that if you get a new car then you get a whole new make-over; the woman gets up every day and puts her hair into a french pleat, wears make-up and both the man and woman dress in suits, and smile like complete jerks. As apposed to hair in pig-tails like a five year old, no make-up and dungarees, with looks of complete misery on their faces (“Bev, Kev, Kev Bev, Bev……..AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:wall: ).
Stupid advert
I also really hate the "make life more interesting - say yes to a Virgin Credit Card" ad. Yeah putting stuff on credit cards is the answer to a happy and fulfilling existence - what a load of crap.:mad:Total Debt November 2016 =£9,660.52
Monthly Repayments = £593.09
Goal to be debt free December 2017/ Savings £500 :T0 -
life IS more interesting when you say YES to debt. Lets face it, its given me something to moan about for the last 10 years :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
