These ads just make me growl a bit when they come on. Clearly they work or they wouldn't run the ads so often, people must be lining up in droves to take out these loans (I pity them). Are they naive or desperate? Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

I actually took out a consolidation loan with one of these types of company when I was 21. It really WAS the only option for me at the time due to a low wage, way too much debt left by my OH and various other factors.
As soon as I was in a position to though, I extended my mortgage and paid it off. It was the only option at the time to prevent me losing my house and it's worked out alright for me in the long run.
I certainly wouldn't advise it though.0 -

Never been able to figure out why they have a shiny new Volvo and as a result suddenly have nicer clothes, a bigger house, better make up and are generally happier with the poorer equivalent looking on.
More interestingly, how do those people who live black and white lives afford coloured ones once they have a loan?

Hello again folks ,these ads are mainly on in the day as mentioned, and the guy phoning up for a £25K loan ,wonder if he would be smiling if he saw the small print of the £48000 you pay back
over something like 240 months
Always good for a laugh,i call it junk tv as my shredder loves the paper versions we get.

I hate that Picture advert - I have to turn the TV over as soon as it comes on. I hate his smug little face, and how he says "good - less work for HER" (the little lady I presume) when lovely Mike tells him there's no paperwork. Aaaaaargh I hate it I hate it .....******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0

Yep, didn't you know men can't read or write? I hate all those adverts. What gets me in the football guy ad, is he has to get his wife to remind him how much it is they want to borrow. Now there's a guy with his finances under control... :wall:Pay off CC debt by Xmas 2017 #095 £0 of £11,416 :eek:0 -

This winds me up so much - 15k isnt a big deal, there are people on here paying off more than that on benefits on here, I certainly dont think they will be dead before they pay off thats why they have a DFD!
Oh my gosh, I was just telling someone about that one! I listen to XFM at work and that ad is on about 15 times a day. So irresponsible! They're so smug about it too aren't they?DFW Nerd #104 I :heartpuls my Kitten

its the way they say "pay your debts until you DIE" you can imagine the guy reading it is getting a load of cash for smiling smarmily through that line
It really is so irresponsible. I just dont know how these companies can get away with it. I think I might phone the FSA about it tomorrow, im sure it cant be legal - can it? Or I could phone them and give them my genuine situation and see if they can offer me some sort of "solution". I feel a bit like kicking off, havent done it for ages :rotfl::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I hate the picture advert too! Very Very Very much.
I got letter through from a credit card company "aqua" or something like that, offering me one of their cards, with the APR at 39.x%. It was in massive letters, not even hidden!
I'm going to get one right after my frontal lobotomy op. Really though who would apply for this? I know you can pay it off each month, but they don't want that... and at that APR. I just don't get it.Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow.0
