This is very funny, the funniest thing I have read on the web in weeks :-)) Perhaps they thought if they arrived, you would all take the hint and move out so they could move in....Maybe they thought people in Wales wouldn't expect to actually sell their homes and get the money in their hot little hands before moving out? Surely if they are fully sold up in Devon they can afford to rent a caravan park site for a couple of weeks?0

Maybe they make offers on houses and stay on the driveways. When the owners realise they aren't going to exchenge they move on to the next. Wait for the parents and cousins to bring their motor homes too.
Will probably ask for a reduction in price due to the dogs mess and people living in the driveway (and the state of the loo in a couple of weeks).
At least ask when they are going to get their loo fixed.0 -
its Christmas and there was no room at the Inn so they slept in a motorhome / caravan .
And the three wise men came bearing gifts off turkey ,sprouts and oust from the local BP.
OH and the star in the east was really the lights from the all night BP ."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
Firstly my thanks goes to BP who I assume has cottonoed on to their visits. This am at 7.30am, they came up the driveway and knocked on the door. Thankfully we had just got up and the Mrs was in the bath using up her new Badedas Bath stuff I got her.
As we have only one loo, which is in the bathroom, I had no choice but to seat them on my new DFS sofa in their nighties with a cup of tea. I even had to apologise for the lack of toilet facilities. And they smell!
I gently enquired about the BP toilets and I was told they were closed which I thought was odd. They asked what we were doing today and I told them we going to our friends in Barry. They then asked whether we could possibly leave a key for the toilet as they were a bit stuck. Reluctantly, I said I would leave a key under the mat, I took a view that we are half packed and as they were close to completion they wouldnt steal.
They are a rather pleasent couple. Their parents drove up from Bristol yesterday and went back at 7am this morning. They had a lovely Christmas in our driveway and it has given them an idea to have more Xmases in their motor home.
Anyway I asked them how comfortable their caravan is. They said although the toilet is out of order as is the shower, they wish to get out of it asap. I suggested a camp site might be more preferable as they have toilet blocks and showers but they told me they couldnt afford it and the house sale overspill hasnt reach their bank account yet.
They asked us what we are doing for New Years and stupidly I said we are having it at home. but not entertaining as we are half packed.
Anyway, they did their business and left the usual brussels odour. I decided to drive down the BP (just to ake sure I did really need to leave a key) to get some ciggies and noticed a TOILET OUT OF ORDER SIGN on the door.
I asked the young girl if it was really out of order as I needed to use it and she said they had to close it as the same family kept coming in to use it and leaving it in a poor state, so much they had complaints from other customers. Oh goodee.
Anyway, we are leaving ina bit. I have left some oust and replaced the toilet roll. It is rudolph I feel sorry for, he looks like he has had more to drink that us this weekend.

Possible next episode:
So you drive off into the sunset (as much of a sunset as Barry can offer) only to return to find that your buyers have decided that they may as well start moving their stuff in now as wait for official completion. In fact, given you are half packed anyway, they could easily put your boxes in the motorhome out of the way. So you return and find the door locked, key under the mat fits the motorhome and a sign that reads "BP toilets re-open".I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
