Do anyone know if this still works?

    Many thanks
Yes it does, i just got £47 but the number has changed
Firstly, you need a new, spare o2 payg sim card - plenty of free ones on the net if you don't have one.

Using your current number and sim, phone 2210 its free. Choose option 1, then option 2. Be patient as it drags on for a while!
Then it will tell you how much the reward is and give you a code.
Now put the new sim in and phone 2210 again
and choose option 2 straight when prompted. Type in your code and current phone number (which you have just got the code from) and answer all the other boring details (postcode etc)
Then choose option 1 to confirm everything. Job done Then throw the new sim away or snap it in half and then carry
on using your normal number as usual. Then you should get credit within 2 weeks time.

I did this myself a few weeks ago and it worked a treat. Just tried again for a friend, step 1 said he was entitled to £8.15, gave me the code, all seemed good.

When I got to step 2 after putting the code in and the phone number I got a message saying "I am sorry but you are not eligible for this promotion"

I'm wondering if they've stopped the glitch and only allow the upgrade reward if you have physically got a new phone rather than just the sim.

can anyone help weve just bought a new phone and went to do this as we want to keep our old sim cards and it said "I am sorry but you are not eligible for this promotion". Do you think it would be worth calling customer services to find out why? My OH was entitled to £25.37 and seems a little unfair they wont give it to us considering we've just spent £70 on a new handset.

I rather suspect you've missed out on this one - Oli1983uk's message offering the numbers was left on 12-11-2006!
