Up to £50 free credit for existing O2 payg users.

Options
You need to be an existing O2 payg user ,and have a spare brand new free sim.

1.Get new sim card.

2.Send an SMS from existing handset with existing SIM Card to 865555 with the Mobile Phone Number that came with your new SIM Card (e.g. 07999123456) as the message.

3.O2 will send back a message confirming your upgrade( but of course you have not upgraded just got a sim)and tell you your free calltime credit amount.

4.The calltime credit will be applied to your existing phones calltime balance in 14 days. The new SIM card and new mobile phone number will then be disconnected. You retain and use your existing sim, your existing number, calltime balance, Bolt Ons etc.

5.Once calltime credit has been applied, bin the new SIM Card

Basically its a loophole in the O2 payg upgrade system. Handy if you dont intend to upgrade in near future. ;)

IMPORTANT NOTE. It appears that O2 have now closed this loophole.

I think it only recognises SIM's that have been sent with handsets for sale and not standalone SIM's...

    Could be wrong though...
  • Idea just worked fine for me got a £5 to be credited in 14 days using a new free sim card recently sent to me.

Are you using out of date sims,or have you possibly recently upgraded and got a credit already.

I used one of my 'free' SIM cards and it worked £5.
What I have found out that if you try another, it won't do it, whether this is because there is 1 already in the system, and you maybe able to do another after 14 days, or they will only allow 1 per handset

That was the message I got when I tried another SIMcard today, after doing one yesterday...Have you already used the service once ?
