Moi? :A
Have been such a good girl and decided not to book any holidays yet
. Number of reasons but at the moment we can only afford the cheapest island, there is nothing wrong with it but I would hate to get to Dec/Jan and find that we could have afforded something a little nicer. We might also get it cheaper by waiting till the New Year sales. It would be nice to have something booked but I am sure we can find something then, if not and we have to go after my birthday then I don't mind too much. The only other place I will consider going to is Egypt as I can dive/snorkel very easily, OH not overly keen on Egypt but we could do a week in a Junior Suite for the same price as we would pay for one of us going to the Maldives . I was suitable impressed when OH said why don't we book that for your birthday and then try and do the Maldives later in the year :rotfl:.
Going to have to price up all the work my car needs doing soon
, I can't get a new one until my defaults drop off which is in 2013 so mine needs to last. I think at the moment it needs: new clutch, new radiator, new anti roll bars, new tyre, new wipers and the rear arches are starting to rust quite badly. Am thinking that's somewhere in the region of £700, ouch. Might have to do it in stages....and it needs tax this month. Damn thing!

I was VERY shocked! He normally tries to wriggle out of holidays so it was a big surprise. In a way it makes sense, if we did Egypt for my birthday for a week and then Maldives in May again it would probably work out about £300 more than if we just did the Maldives in March. It seems like a no brainer but the weather in March is almost guaranteed in the Maldives whereas May is very changeable.
Hopefully I will get a good year end bonus this year and then it wont be such an issue

Think with only £300 in it I would be very tempted to do both and just hope for the best on the weather!
Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
This is true. That's one of the reasons I thought I would wait till new year, then we will have a much better idea of money to spend etc.
I am going to have to be so strict on myself over the next 3 months I think, it's mums birthday next month and littleuns the month after .

We went to Vilamendhoo
. It was a hard decision but I worked out how much we wanted to spend first, then filtered them by whether they had a house reef or not and then checked out the reviews on trip advisor, simples!

Quite a bit to update on, it's a bit of a good news/bad news type post in more ways than one. Not sure which bits to do first, hmmmmmm.
- Bad news No1 - After deciding that I really wanted to go away for my actual birthday it now looks like I may not be able to AT ALL . It's all a bit up in the air but if I passed the two exams I have just sat then I will have five left. The idea was to do two in December and then do the last 3 in June so hopefully I would be finishes. The problem with this is that when I checked the course dates for this year as a guide, all the courses are split into blocks of 2/3 days in March, 2 in mid April and then a couple of days in May for revision. As they will be my last three I can't pick and choose which ones I want to sit, I just have to take them! Typically, all the dates are around my birthday
. Means I literally can't book anything now until they release the course dates which won't be for ages yet. MEHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
- Bad news No2 - had yesterday off and my work mate also had the afternoon off, I did some housework in the morning and then he picked me up, I went to have a nosey round his new flat (which is HUGE, miles bigger than ours so I am a tad jealous!) and then we went to Bingo. We didn't win anything which isn't the bad news, the bad news is that I ended up spending £40 on something that should have cost £10! I just got carried away with the link up games and then fruit machines (I had a bad addiction to them about 10 years ago). I am SO SO annoyed with myself. It's left me miles short for OH's meal tomorrow and my haircut next week so now I will have to dip into savings. Did I mention I am annoyed with myself? I have decided no more bingo as I am not sure if I can control myself.
- Good news - After telling payplan I was not going to increase my DMP I went back through my figures and decided I would increase it a little bit to try and knock the length of the plan down. I have put it up almost £15, it's not a huge amount but it moves the end date from Dec 2012 to Nov 2012. My aim is to get that down to at least August so I have my fingers crossed tightly. I may even push for March so I am debt free by 30 but will play that one by ear for now.
So, after next payday I will be back to my daily spending diary and I may even post it so we can all debate it together. I don't see why I can't 'live' on £30 a week as it's rare I go out but that's what I need to find out. Will be off to hotel for bosses wedding later, I was hoping it would be sunny for them today but it's a bit overcast, fingers crossed it doesn't rain
