i heard it havnt seen it. do you know the new rules?
Hasn't this always been the case?
When you pass the medical assessment, ATOS state a length of time when, in their opinion you should be ready for work - unless you are in the Support Group?
This normally ranges from 3 months. When that time comes round you are assessed again.0 -
Yes, I think this has always been the case. Even those in the Support Group will be reviewed. I sent off my second ESA50 in October and am waiting to see if I will be called in for another ATOS medical.0

so its every 3 months for a medical assessment regardless which group you in?
its really hard to pass the atos medical according to complaints on the net. its so much hassle.
And to go through that hassle again after 3 months even though you passed the first. I think its better off claiming jsa.0 -
It's not likely to be every 3 months. My first medical assessment was about a year ago. If you're unemployed and fit to work, then yes - you should be claiming JSA instead.0

The the time between the assessments ranges between 3 months and 2 years.0 -
Considering it is in ATOS;s financial interest to see people again as fast as possible, as they get paid for each assessment, its not a suprise they often recommend people are called in again within short time periods, and its not a suprise, when they are proved wrong, they dont change their stance.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.
[/greenhighlight][redtitle]
The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
The government are the ones that are wanting more regular testing. Your hatred of ATOS clouds your judgement on that. Only the most serious illnesses are being reassessed every two years.Considering it is in ATOS;s financial interest to see people again as fast as possible, as they get paid for each assessment, its not a suprise they often recommend people are called in again within short time periods, and its not a suprise, when they are proved wrong, they dont change their stance.0 -

well if you are thinking that you are better off claiming JSA, why on earth are you claiming ESA?
You are either too unfit to do any work, or fit and able to look for it. There is no middle ground!0
