Bunbun!!!! I haven't got the catalogues either, although I have had a look through both of them, but find there are more things online to choose from and spend hours looking!

No one should be nervous - apart from maybe your partner who has the job of choosing one of the 3 items that have been chosen for you. I am sure that everyone will be thrilled with their choices.

Legend - can't wait to receive the Stig outfit! Thank you!

I am absolutely shattered today. DS woke in middle of the night having a bad dream shouting for me, and ended up in our bed, DD had already made her way in! She is 4, I know someone was asking but sorry cannot remember who! She is wise beyond her years sometimes, makes you forget she is still a baby really.

Has anyone signed up for the portable tv Santa this year yet - if so do you have the link please?

Just started my Christmas food list - have actually put my dad on the turkey mission, saves me a job!

  • will email to you now elysia its no probs :D

i'll probably have more next week when the other stuff arrives so i'll give a shout out then

chamichelle , i think if you treat it like a full time job its going to burn you out , esp as its not going to pay full time job wages
if you were going out to work , you wouldn't be doing all the other stuff, cooking, cleaning, children , you can't do it all at the same time hun
    you will make yourself poorly

i think of it as extras , so if i can get the birthday presents for the year and something towards christmas then i'm happy , i just do surveys at the mo , i will start reviews after christmas now i have a bit more time to myself
i think you need to treat yourself to a week off :grouphug:
ooh just seen how rude that looks lol

oh just had a lovely email saying my paypal redeem is going through
lol i don't even remember redeeming so thats a nice surpise :D

but they are like buses, none for ages then 3 in a week lol

boatgirl i hope you have a better night tonight

bunbun i think i've picked 2 just need another, but i know what you mean
what if they hate them and think you have awful taste lol

savvy wow you have done amazingly well :T enjoy your new crafty stuff

foxy it must be 4 year old girls lol mines the same, they ain't daft are they :D

mrs tooti, i was the same when i started didn't have a clue what i was doing lol still don't some days !
but everyone here are so friendly and helpful :D
  • Hi, yes boatgirl I have enough vouchers set aside to cover most of Christmas next year, dd is getting a big play kitchen and pots and pans, playfood etc have set aside the vouchers for that already and other vouchers to take care of most of the other things. I couldn't have done it without the help of everyone on this thread. I also have to put it down to the grabbit board too, I picked up quite a bit much cheaper than I expected. I did spend some of the vouchers to get a bit of a treat for myself for Christmas too which I normally wouldn't do but I figure if you do the hard work you should have a little treat too. I should really focus on buying the last few bits for this year really lol.

Foxy, sorry to be so dim, but do we choose three items for our secret santee to pick from and then we go and buy it, or do they pick and get their partner/kids to buy it with their allocated secret santa money, I thought it was the first but then read your post which made me think it could be the latter. Sorry to be a bit dense, I have been looking and found a few items but I don't know whether the shops are local to santee etc

Just had a relaxing evening, no money making really but it's nice to have a night off and and to have an early night. See you in the morning x

    Xmas Saver!
Just thought I'd tell you about Miss Hoodie earlier, def a chip off the old block.. At the mo shes 50/50 over Santa as one of the kids at school told her it was mums and dads who put them out.

With everything thats going on, needed a distraction, so said we'd see if we could to Lapland next yr, so we've got all the brocheres wack of hotels marked off, day trip for both of us would be in region of £900, so hoping tesco vouchers can make a dent. Just in ideas stage...

Last ngt shes reading the brochere, says meet the real santa, really serious, she says it better be the real santa, otherwise I'm going to sue them, not sure for what, but sure your find something on them, trades description sounds a good one to start with!! Shes 9, going on 29.

Shes back at school today, apparently Mon over half the class were missing with this sickness bug, so don't feel so guilty. I've got some movement back, baby steps but in the right direction, xxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Hi all - sorry I've been so quiet, I do not know where the time goes! It seems to be wizzing past!

Thanks for the kind words about my finances - starting to feel a bit better about it now as me and hubby had a long chat about it and made a budget etc, it's still going to be hard and the kids will not get as much as past years but as my hubby so rightly told me 'it's only one xmas and we will have many more that will not be so difficult' so I am just going to make the best of what we have, enjoy this one and then make sure that we have a better year next year :)

I've not been feeling that great as really struggling with giving up smoking but I'm getting there. I just can't seem to get past a week, I always get to the 5th or 6th day and then go and buy a pack! I am not going to let it beat me lol! I'm going to keep trying and I'll get there eventually.

Thank you so much for the pm with all the sites your on Elysia, it was very kind of you and really helpful.

Right, I'm going back to bed!

Dj - you're most welcome hun. I agree with OH, Christmas isn't about toys etc,(well it shouldn't be) it's about spending time as a family, and you have many more Christmas's to come to do spoil the kids. Just make it as special as you can, and that doesn't cost a lot.

Mum2one - glad Miss Hoodie is better and that your back is easing too. How's your Mum and Dad?

Chel - thanks so much for the voucher. I really appreciate it. I bought some Tatty Teddy makeup and perfumes that were halfprice to start with. £50.50 worth of stuff for £15.25. I love a bargain. :)

Savvy - thanks to Chel's voucher I've started on next years birthday and Christmas gifts. It's so great to be organised. For the secret santa you pick three items from a high street store (Boots. Argos etc) and then note down the catalgue numbers. This get's passed back to Foxy. The recipient will get their OH to pick and buy one, and wrap it so it's a surprise. Is that ok? :)

Bunbun - well done on your redeems hun. Our lot just get a choc advent now, even OH and the dog has one. :D I used to give them a present everyday, but I was running out of ideas for little gifts that would fit in their calendar, plus it was working out too expensive. :(

Boat girl - thanks for the code last night. I managed to get that one. How did Tabi do last night? Good I hope, and that you feel nice and rested.

    Morning all

I didnt get back on again yesterday, we planned to be in by 2 in the afternoon but it was nearly 7pm by the time we got home in the end. We popped into Dunelm Mill to have a look round on the way home and bought some nice bits for the front room, like ornamental things.

Going up town this morning to hopefully get the rest of our Christmas presents, then this afternoon we are going to start wrapping things up and sorting them out.

I am close to redeeming on T again, on my last 1000 points. Had a couple of other surveys as well this morning including one on Viva. I am about £3 away from a redeem on there now.

Keep saying I will get back to normal and posting more but its so hectic here lol. May be tomorrow when OH goes back to work again (although meeting my mate in the afternoon!)
  • Good morning, I cannot remember who was after lego star wars but, Boots have glitched with double 20% coming off so 40% and they have 20% off and 3for2 kicking in on a few things. Have picked up a few things but its the lego thats coming up very cheap. If you spend over £100 there is a code for £15 off too. HTH. If Boots notice they may get cancelled but if you dont try you never know, they are usually good at honouring such things. It tends to work out around buy one get two free, there are tag pal junior reading sets, star wars, mechanno (sp?) worth a look.
