    Morning all

Sorry to hear about OH Emmad, hope its not anything too serious. I am sharing laptops at the moment as my own computer has stopped working and its such a pain as OH likes to hog it once he gets on it.

Elysia - thanks for the offer about the fabric, it wasnt Cath Kidston fabric, just cheap and cheerful stuff. I am not that bothered about it as I can get fabric elsewhere instead but thanks for the offer. As for the lever arch file, I ended up getting a royal blue one in WH Smiths the other day and she will have to make do with that instead. I cant see a problem myself, its not like she will get it muddled up as others are pink red and yellow. I still have to get the yellow one but they have them in staples and we have one not that far so she could go over and get it herself when she gets a chance.

I didnt manage to get back on the computer yesterday when we got home as OH was on it all evening. I had a few surveys in my inbox this morning but didnt qualify for any of them. May be I can get back to normal again tomorrow when he goes back to work.

We had a bit of money saving though, we desperately needed a new mattress for out bed as the springs are sticking out of the one we have and its so uncomfortable to sleep on. Well, we were telling OH's Mum yesterday and OH was saying he will buy one nearer Christmas when he gets his pay for his trip he is going on. She told him to have a look in the Argos book for one to see how much they were and they had one which was reduced less than half price, a good make, so she said she would pay for it and he can give it back to her when he gets his pay. It says on the site that it saves over £200 but I don't know if this is really the saving as its the same price on a few different sites too but anyway, we are pleased we are getting a new one. Might take two weeks for delivery but we can live with that seeing as we thought we wouldn't get one until December.
  • Sorry to hear about hubby, Emma. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Don't worry yourself what will happen monday until you know what's going on though, there's nothing worse than thinking of what if's and stressing yourself out if there is nothing to be worrying about iykwim?

Been up early today to get myself sorted for my Tesco swoop, which will be carried out like a military operation lol (operation jinglebop) Legend would be proud of me. Hubby seems to be convinced I will be able to find a super heap laptop for him, I have told him to not hold his breth but he is excited already, I don't think he understands how quickly bargains shift, I mean I am quick but there are a handful of people much more determined than me lol.Shall keep fingers and toes crossed for some mega bargains :D

Going out for dinner later too so may not be around much, we don't go out for dinner often so it will be a lovely trat :)

Hope everyone has a lovely relaxing sunday xx

  • Sorry to hear about your hubbie Emma. It doesn't sound pleasant, and they always seem to happen at the worst time don't they with you starting the new job. I hope you get a bit of chance to rest today too. Let us know how you and your DH are later hon.

rufus a new mattress sounds great. You will really notice a difference I bet.

savvy good luck grabbing those bargains.

I'm kicking myself this morning. I only just realised this morning that Cha run a competition every week with a share of a pot of money for everyone who answers more than 1500 Qs. I checked how many I had managed. You can probably guess the rest. 1492. I am a bit fed up by that, but I know for this week don't I.

I hope there is a good survey or two about today. If not, remember S and S everybody and various panels we are on. I might be able to redeem for £5 amazon on SB today as well. Good luck everyone.

Emma - sorry to hear about OH. Hopefully it's just an infection and some antibiotics will clear it. Kidney stones can be zapped with laser now can't they, so hopefully no big op either.

Don't worry about tomorrow, until you know for sure. Savvy is right there. There's no need, until you have to. ;)

Rufus - If ever theres any material you need from Ikea I can pick it up for you. Just ask. :) I miss the old Rag Market here in Birmingham. Miles and miles of material as far as you could see. It's all new now and isn't the same. I used to love going in there hunting for the exact shade and pattern I needed.

Savvy - as my sister would say - 'sharpen those elbows' - so you can push everyone out of the way. I'm there for opening too. I have a much better idea of the toys in the sale now, and will head directly there, instead of hanging around. You have a lovely meal later. We haven't been out for ages, in fact I can't remember - I think it might be time for a treat. I'll see how my pennies are going next week. :)

My eb@y things are ending today - I sold 3 things out of 7 yesterday, and I have 9 ending today, 3 with bids, so I'm hoping I do a bit better than yesterday.

Have a lovely day everyone and while I remember S&S and Tissue for Legend.

ETA: Cross posted with you Michelle. LOL. I took so long as DD wanted me to look at something. :)

What a shame at you missing out on the comp. Did it run Fri and Sat then, so no chance of doing the extra today? You know for next week now, so good luck for that. What's your plans today? Anything exciting? :D

  • Well its scan number 3 day! I will cry if we cant tell today lol. Also going to pizza express afterwards to use a £25 giftcard I won a while ago woo, I like a free meal!!

I just wanted to check with people on here - nothing to do with making money I know, but I need some new foundation and moisturiser but I've got £40 of boots points on my card - I can use these for makeup and stuff right?? Also if I am lucky enough to get a voucher through one of the machine things there that I could use today, could I use it and still pay with my points or is that not allowed? I dont want to make a fool of myself at the till!!
    Thank you

Well ladies did you miss me? Had a good night out last night, home by 1, only spent 3.40 so very money saving! Had drinks bought for me or free from bar staff I knew because it was my birthday! Waiting on DS return but am quite fresh and no headache!
actually I tell a lie, I do have a bad head but that's because before I went out OH was trying to be funny and put me over his shoulder and carried me upstairs and only whacked my head on the doorframe! Idiot!

right I need to catch up and see what bargains I have missed out on! Also gutted as can't go to Tesco today as shouldn't really drive so may miss out on more bargains!

Pablos - you CAN use vouchers just hand them to the SA first, and then your card, but make sure you tell them that you will be using your points before you start.

Hope everything goes well for you today. I'll be keeping fingers crossed that you find out. :)

Legend - so pleased you had a good night. LOL at your OH. That's something mine would do too. ;) Have a good day in - at least you won't be spending. ;)

They have an epic competition every week, where there is a pot which is divided between all the people who answered over 1500 Questions with a certain percentage accuracy. So you have all week, but their week starts on a Sunday. So I am starting afresh today, and no way of making it up I'm afraid. :o

But, they also seem to do these promos every weekend where you answer so many Qs and get a bonus. So, this weekend, 150 gets you an extra £2, then every 80 after that another £1. Sounds easy, but its still quite slow, but I got about 260 Qs yesterday and got the £3.

No real plans today. DH and the kids are out in the garden. I don't feel like doing a lot, so probably try and write a new review as I haven't done one in a little while, and then maybe a bit of baking for lunchboxes. I am lacking a bit in motivation today.
  • elysia -thank you! I get so nervous paying for anything even if it has a massive £5 sticker on and I've got a £5 note in my hand, I always panic that I wont have enough! so actually using my boots points and not paying with real money is a new thing for me lol..I'm crazy!

Omg Im so excited about the scan! surveys are not even getting a look in this morning, I'll watch Dr Who on iplayer this evening and start surveys then. squeeeeeeeeee.

  • Ohh Michelle tell me more. DD has more or less that same things in her lunchbox everyday. What do you make - muffins or something and freeze them? I need inspiration.

I've just rated people on DoU who I get the email for, and noticed that out of my four product suggestions remaining, one is 600, and the other three are 300 - I thought they were all 100 ones, so that may motivate me a bit to get them done. :D

OH is faffing around this morning, so not got to T's yet. :( I've just bought his Crimbo pressie off ebay though. It was listed as BIN and I've been watching it for months hoping the price got lower. I just noticed the seller had one with bids on, so my cheeky last minute bid meant I got it £15 cheaper than BIN. :D Happy, happy, happy.
