  • Pablosmummy : My uncle is the only boy with 4 sisters (he is number 4, Nanna kept going till she hada boy then my auntie who is no. 5 was an accident hahaha) and he turned out ok, complete mammys boy and got nicknamed Martha (instead of martin) growing up but he is forever having his sisters making sunday lunchs and christmas dinners for him in replace for him fixing their cars now hahaha

Was hoping to get some things listed on Ebay, especially with our little mini challenge set but havent managed to find time yet. Still fingers crossed I manage tonight but I am back in work tomorrow after a week off (boohoo) so will have to make sure everythings washed and ready!

I did however venture selling to a car boot this morning to money make. Has been raining quite bad last few days and was raining all night but wasnt raining when we got up so thought we would risk it. Started off badly as the one we were planning to sell at had a cancelled sign outside when we arrived! Other one is a 30 min drive from there so didnt want to drive all the way to find out that was cancelled too, luckily the iphone came to the rescue, googled it and found the number and rang to confirm it was still on today. However it has been temporarily moved! So got to the old site then had to follwo directions for another 4 miles to the temp field. Was no where near as big as it usually is, possibly because of the move, possibly because of recent weather. I didnt have as much stuff as usual so said I would be happy with £50, and came homewith £100! Very happy bunny! Plus ione box to go to charity, one small box to go in loft of stuff to keep for next time and then sold the rest! So lots of space created too.

Putting the £100 into my christmas fund to bump it up abit, figure it is still money neutral. Starting to really look for gifts now for christmas.

My Mum had mentioned that she likes Yankee Candles. So going to keep an eye out for them. Seen a couple of grabbit threads but nothing that Ive liked yet. Went to debenhams as heard they have a sale on them, but mine didnt stock them at all :(

Well done with the car boot. £100 is excellent, especially at this time of year with the rubbishy weather.
I think I saw it mentioned that Home Bargains are selling the Yankee Candle tartlets really cheaply. I haven't seen them myself but I'm sure I read it on one of these threads.

Michelle - the carrot and pineapple muffins sound gorgeous, any chance of the recipe? :D

I had a prezzie buying trip into town today. It was nice and quiet with it being a Sunday. I got quite a few bits and pieces, including secretly getting 5 presents for DS even though he was with me!
In Tesco they have HUGE boxes of Thorntons chocolates reduced to £6.50. The best before date is March next year so they're fine for Christmas. I got two boxes but I think I might go back and get a few more as they look a lot more expensive than that. I've decided one box will be for my teaching assistant, one for my Mum but now I also want one for DH and possibly sisters-in-laws and step mother-in-law. They are also ideal as the 'spare' present to have ready just in case.

Sorry I'm just answering Emma before I forget.

The more rating you do, the more E's you get. I get 7 PER DAY, I think Michelle may get 8. The allowance starts again at midnight, so I'll be back tomorrow when I have 7 again, because I've used all of todays up.

I think I've just figured out why your ratings are so low - the more you give E's, the more likely you are to get some back.

Get rating more, and you'll receive more rates in return. I must admit to rating people who rate me, more than those who don't. It's the way it works unfortunately.

Nicky well done on the pressie buying - I love it now. It feels so Christmassy. :)

Giggles - have a look on QVC for Yankee Candles. They often do easi pay and have special offers too. Well done on the car boot.

Savvy - I'm doing ok thankyou :) Not as good as last month, but I redeemed on everything then, so I've had to start over again. :( I've been extremely busy today - I've posted a review on either site, listed some stuff on eb, more to go on later. Popped to T for Glitching Hello Kitty Hoodies, and leggings for DD and inbetween put the dinner on. I've hardly had time to breath today. Must get S&S, Tissue thingy, and the ironing done too. Phew I'm exhausted.

Thanks for that, god knows where I got three a month from lol!! in lala land sometimes, I do try and rate even when I am not writing reviews but like you say if I am not giving out the Es then i'm not getting them back. With your E tomorrow (thanks) I will have 13 this month over 3 reviews so the best I have ever managed.

    Afternoon everyone

I have had a lovely day out with my brother and sil. The quilt fair was lovely, some beautiful pieces of work. They had a big marquee too full of stalls selling the most gorgeous fabrics. Before I came out this morning OH asked me if I had any spending money so I said no and he gave me £20 lol, first time he has done that for years, I nearly fell through the floor but didnt say anything, just thank you very much lol. I just had to spend it, saved my money. There was a stall selling fabrics at £5 a metre (the kind I use for quilts and bags etc) so I bought 4 metres. I am waiting for my batteries to charge up and I will upload some photos to my blog. One happy bunny.

Just got in and checked my emails and my SN payment has been paid already to Paypal so even happier bunny lol. Just wish I had my machine working and I could go and make something. I will have to make do with the knitting instead.

Cornish - yes I got my Am vouchers from Ips after all thanks xx

Just edited to say I have put a couple of photos of my new gorgeous fabrics on the sewing thread as I dont want to put them on my blog in case my sister's look and see them. I have been a bit naughty and saw another post on there about a website having a sale of fabrics and have spent some of my SN money already lol. Still, I am hoping to use the fabrics to make presents for next year so will be saving in the long run. Off to do a bit more knitting as on my own this eve until YD gets home about 8.30. OH is staying at his Mum's tonight.

Afternoon all, I have done my listings on ebay, thank you for the reminders and the kick up the a*** to do it! One item that ended today has also sold so fingers crossed that I create some more space. Have had a sort out of the ebay cupboard, sorted out anything summery to go back in the attic til February and got some of the more wintery clothes out ready for selling. Got to sort out DD wardrobe again, there will no doubt be some items for getting rid of there too. Did a batch of ironing yesterday - and sorted out some stuff to give away, so starting to get a little productive again. Bought OH his anniversary present, a replacement for something that was in the car :-(
Finally got the door fixed, am starting to feel a little better. Still not sleeping too well, but don't feel quite so anxious. Everyone is saying I should still go to see the doctor, but I don't know whether it will help.
I won the bonus ball at work on Thursday, so started my £100 in 100 days for Christmas early. There is £20 in there already!
Still building up paypal for Christmas presents, will withdraw when I get to a 3 figure number, always helps to keep a bit in there just in case see anything I want. Looking for a cheap bike for DD for Christmas, no idea what to get DS this year - all he is into is football! Any ideas gratefully received xx

  • NickyBo: Oh thanks, we have quite a few Home Bargains round our way so I will keep an eye out over the next few months :D. Ah I love big christmas shop days! I cant wait for the xmas market to start here, will definately be planning some shopping trips to that. I was really pleased with my £100, like you said the weather is very hit and miss! Despite raining constantly for the last few days and overnight we actually had glorious sunshine! You never can tell... I had 3 layers on preparing for the cold haha.

Elysia: Oh thanks I never thought of QVC! My Mum used to be a huge fan about 10 years ago hahaha. She actually mentioned today there is a QVC outlet near her home, wonder if they have any real bargains in there? Shes going to take me when I next see her so will do a reki, can always nip back on another day if there is!

RufusDog: Oh I am so jealous of your sewing skills! Everytime I read your posts about sewing and knitting I feel a pang of jealously! I really wish I could sew and knit. My Nanna was a wonderfully gifted at knitting and she used to make me all kinds of dolls as a child (still have some lovingly stored away now). Not to mention making pom poms for my dollies prams with me when I used to be off school sick! She passed away when I was 14 so sadly I hadnt started to get into any real crafts then, now I would lover to be able to go to her to learn! You've made me think actually... I may put a beginners sewing machine on my list for Santa, is there any that you would recommend? Or what basics would I need on a sewing machine to start myself off?

Foxy: I am glad you are starting to feel a little less anxious now. Goingto the Doctors isnt always the answer. If you feel that you are starting to improve and it is not harming your day to day life too much (for example work) then I would say to keep on at it yourself. If you find that you arent coping at all and cant feel any improvement, or your day to day life is suffering greatly then maybe speaking with the doctors about some medical help may be best. Good luck with sorting your ebay stuff, sounds like there is lots to keep you busy!

So sorry Foxy - I have two sisters, one of whom had a girl, and I had two girls, so I'm no good with boys stuff. :)

Maybe as you're feeling a little better, you don't need to see the Doc's now, but keep it in mind just incase. You've done fantastically well getting through this hon. :) Well done on the ebay listing too. It's amazing the space you gain back isn't it? I've listed 16 things today, and still have a non payer from last week. I only ever list 10 items tops so I might be pulling my hair out next week.

Rufus - will check the sewing thread in a mo. Sounds like you had a fab day. It's great when you see some materials you like, you feel all inspired :) What are you making, do you know?

Emma - your welcome hun. Thanks for my E too. I'm really forgetful (doing too much at once) so if I forget to pop back please remind me, I don't mind. :) I write them on a list, and then end up losing my paper.

Just S&S to do now. Thank goodness. Early night for me I think tonight. Is it too early to go now?
