Savvy you're right, it was a huge shock! She wouldn't listen to me if I told her not to do it lol, good luck beating the highest total
still almost 2 weeks of September left, you can do it
Foxy, glad you are feeling a little better, for some people the doctors are the answer for everything, for others they would rather stay away. If its not for you, just carry on trooping on, i know its a cliche but time is a healer
I forgot I put 6 bits on ebay last night that I wouldn't of if it wasnt for the challenge, so thanks elysia! I did take piccies and weigh everything last night but I'm not putting it on tonight, maybe tomorrow, still got loads of 99p free listings so it doesnt matter if i miss the free weekend.
DD is doing better than I expected with her bed, only had to go back up to her once (so far!)Making money for christmas 2012:santa2:0 -
Giggles - If you just want it to learn on then keep a look out for one that does at least straight and zigzag stitching, you need the straight stitch for the obvious and you can use the zigzag stitch for stitching over the edge of seams to stop them freying. Most machines have some other stitches on them which can come in handy but they do not get used as much as these do. I hardly ever use the other stitches on my machine really except the button hole gadget thingy. I am not that up on what sewing machines are out at the moment but if you come over to the sewing thread there are lots of ladies on there who have just bought their first machine and can give you some tips on what ones are good and what to avoid.
Elysia - I want to make bags out of the fabric for presents then if I have any over I can do some for my shop.0 -
Just had to pop back on as I'm so pleased with something I just managed to buy on Ebay! As you know, DS is Star Wars crazy and I've been gradually buying him figures on Ebay. I've lost out on loads of figures in the last few days so I was getting a bit cheesed off with it.
Anyway, in between listing things tonight, I had a quick check to see what Star Wars things were finishing in the next 10 minutes. I spotted this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200650574719?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
It's one of DS's favourite monsters and I've tried to find him one before. It seems nowhere sells them now and the only hope was to find a vintage one. I have watched a few on Ebay going for £30-40+ and thought I'd never get one, then I spotted this one. It's a vintage, only 2 years younger than me :rotfl: and I won it, woohoo!! I was sitting with my fingers hovering over the buttons ready to bid again and I actually screamed when I won it. I'm SOOO pleased as I know he'll absolutely love it.
I can't wait to tell DH as well as he's the reason DS loves Star Wars so much. My problem now is convincing DH not to give it to DS before Christmas. I might have to find somewhere to hide it, might even take it in to work and hide it in my stock cupboard to avoid the temptation of giving it early.
Oooh, I feel so giddy now! Must get back to these maths books I'm meant to be markingMaking money for Christmas 2012!0 -

Well done Nicky. I know how much vintage star wars stuff can go for, so well done to you. You got a Huggggge bargain there. Woohoo.
Legend - So sorry to hear about comp trouble - I've had it too since Friday (when that thing got delivered). I've run every scan I can, malware everything, and the bloomin thing is still playing up. That's why it took so long to do my listings, and I had to do them spread out over the day, instead of all ending around 7 like I normally do.Grrrr I hate technology sometimes.
Giggles - is there a Extra T near you? There was a sewing machine going for £20 instore, but £89 (I think) online. WOuld be good enough to start with.
Emma - I'd put it on when you get home, more people will be rating then - during the day it's more like a trickle, some here and some there.
Well done everyone on getting your listings done everyone - and to those who didn't, try and get some on in the next week, as then people will still have money from payday (hopefully).
Couldn't get s&s to work at all - something to do with fault number 2 or whatever - have fiddled with my settings (I know I shouldn't but still) and downloaded something or other, but still can't get it to work. Evening ladies.
Started to write a post on here earlier but then lost it, so back to have another try.
It went along the lines of, been cha-ing, very tired, had a cheeky pizza for dinner, and got some big news as DH and I had a 'big chat' and he is letting me have my chihuahua pup that I want from my mum's litter.I am over the moon, but now need to buy some stuff for him (we'll need a crate and small collar/lead and a toy or two, and some food) and I can pick him up around the 4th of October. I am so excited.
I also need to work out where the money will come from, but I'm owed DY and YG cheques for a start, and I have a couple of weeks to work it out, and I'm sure as its my mum I can pay her over a couple of months. I just knew she has some people coming to look at them tomorrow, and if they picked the one that is my favourite I would be so gutted.
Anyway, I saw there were lots of comments I needed to answer.
savvy I am quite happy to write some tips for DY and C if people would like me to. I'll try and do it this week in some of my child free time, as DS2 has his first day at nursery tomorrow.
nicky cake recipe as requested. We ate some for pudding and they are really scrummy, and I think I could even say quite healthy. I made it with pineapple chunks as I didn't have crushed, and just plain white flour as i didn't have wholemeal, and they were just fine.
Can't remember now if i was asked anything else, as I read it then had to take up DS2s trousers which were 2 inches too long, so good job I made him try them on tonight. If they are fine, I've two more pairs to do tomorrow.0 -
Just wondering if any one knows where I can get a 'Stuffy' soft toy from the cbeebies show, Show Me Show Me?
On ebay they have home made ones which don't look quite as good as I would like, or charging around £20! Anyone know where i can get a good one cheaper, or if I can request one to be made?Comping wishlist for 2017
