  • Hi everyone..Not even gonna try and attempt to catch up!!! lol

Finally getting over chest infection....Had to take steroids as well which is fine when you are taking them cos you feel on top of the world until you stop taking them!! Now have neck ache....bad head ache last night. Took a sleeper last night and was in bed before 10!! Not like me!! Funeral arrangements for MIL are going ok....(next Tues) seems like its ages. Family have got me organising the "party" ....thats what she wanted. I have sorted the flowers.....balloons etc ordered. Most of food being delievered today and then get fresh stuff at weekend. My DN is making Chicken Curry(jamaican stylee) and fried chicken. I am doing the usual sandwiches.....vol u vents etc and SIL is on sausage roll and sausage duty. Also got a chinese lantern for everyone to write on the FIL will release it at end of evening.
Other than that....it was my birthday on Saturday and we just had a quiet on. I got a lovely new red coat from DH and a red handbag from DD which I am gonna wear to funeral as MIL wants everyone in colours. DN sent me £30 and I got the usual flowers and chocs as well.
All Jan birthdays were sorted before Xmas so glad I had done that. Not got many in Feb and will start on clear outs after next week. Antidepressants seem to be doing there job ...only thing is I still keep on feeling really tired by 4pm!!! Oh well.....

    Much love Lisi xx

and having seen friends go through what you are with your ex, I hope he gets a trapped nerve in his neck and sciatica:eek: good luck with the court:grouphug:

    Hello all :j

toothfairy - glad you're getting over the chest infection. Sounds like you';ve got a lot to do. Dont push yourself too hard.............take care x:)

esmer - hope all goes well with the court hearing.:)

Made three cards this morning.......didn't really feel like doing much else to be honest. So called 'booster' cushions came that I ordered from newspaper advert.............bit disappointed........mind you not sure what I really expected short of a miracle cushion................lol
I really need a proper pressure cushion but they all seem to vary in price so much.

Now all I have to do is find scrapbook paper...........and it'll make my day...............lol:)

    Hope you're all ok.......:)

Hope your ex gets gout and conjunctivitis, esmer. I can't think of anything more painful and annoying that's ultimately not so harmful I'd feel bad wishing it on anyone :o

    Here here!! :T

And nice work on getting your New York trip out of a possible disaster scenario!! lol :T

    saverang - welcome!!

mum2one - oh to be a fly on the wall when Miss Hoodie's teacher reads the Roman work!! lol :D :rotfl:

Lisi - you sound like you're doing amazing! And good on your MIL requesting a party, colours etc. Nice to celebrate the life. SOunds like your birthday was lovely if a bit quiet. x

mary - have you tried memory foam cusions??

Oh I've had one of 'em days. I think I'm just easily irritable today, but people are just so stooopid. Not all people, but SOME people!! Argh! lol Feel better now. Not worth me explaining in any more detail than that, it's really not that interesting. lol

Possible problem with childcare this week as our childminder's little boy is in hospital - ill but no one knows why! So I might have to take a day or two off work which is a pain as I have a busy week!!

However, on the plus side, after a non productive weekend I got home yesterday and because hubby was picking up DD I had a good hour to myself - so I stuck the hoover over downstairs and blitzed DD's bedroom! Made room in her wardrobe for all her new clothes (presents at Christmas and B'Day) too. So quite pleased there.

Ebay news - there's bids on my gas hob (yeay!) and a few people looking at my wedding dress, which I'm surprised by as ebay is saturated with wedding dresses! Exciting!

    Have a good evening everyone

Clare - no, not tried memory foam ones...........thought I'd give these ''booster'' cushions a go. They're not too bad I suppose ............think I'm expecting too much.............lol
We got a memory foam mattress ..........hadn't thought of cushions but really I think I need a proper pressure cushion..........have to ask occupational therap where the best place is to get them from. They do all seem to vary so much.

Mary - thought I'd mention it because hubby picked up one to try from Poundstretcher (around £8 I think - very MSE when you start looking around!!), one of the pillow shaped ones (rather than those funny shaped ones that are supposed to fit to your neck) and he thinks it's great. It's also VERY firm - I wouldn't like it to sleep on, but might be quite supportive!

    I've been organised today

Wrapped 4 sets of bday prezzies for Febs birthday - just need some cards.

    Done
40 box - for neighbour, (him)worked out at £10 (put wrapping paper around a vistaprint box - then cello on top
30 box - for neighbour (her) that was £6 - used box from Strictly set, + cello wrapped that
40 box - best mate - £6 but shes got a gold locket as well - used the gold roll box from gok wan boots set
40 box - for me - used fern cotton hat box

Digressing but I def would not of paid £40 for the Fern Cotton Box, - theres a selection of stuff, but 3/4 box hot air, but for £10 don't mind that.

Miss Hoodie cooked flapjacks at school, they were absolutely gorgeous, but brought on another anaphylaxis shock, luckly we got it under control - think was 1 step away from jabbing....... so now got to ask the cook what the ingredients were.

Still waiting for Tesco to get back to me, 5 weeks now - for a list of ingredients - we took everything into the customer service desk, left address - that could be a fun phone call 2mor!!
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • OK I am stuck

daughter - easy, I make my own soap and I can make her a pair of pj's, plus some favourite food and flowers- birthday in May

mum - ditto, minus the pj's :) will do for mothersday as well

son - no idea - he is a pub manager, so not much free time, but I have a while to go before I need to find something

dad- really stuck for fathers day, he has had 2 bad strokes and can't do much, so he doesn't need much and at 86 he has a stash of most things

OH- birthday in july, very boring, very much like dad without the strokes:rotfl:

any ideas for gifts for people who are housebound but dont need anything

Just a thought re dad, what about a family photo album, just thinking Vista print do spiral one - usually free links, I get emails at odd intervals, but will have a look if have a spiral one and pop it on thread 2ngt.

Son -is there anything he likes just thinking maybe DVD of a series or something like that

OH - what about something completely different - is there anything he likes, depending on the budget - I've done dad when its been special bday rally driving course - thou he was the oldest there (it was his 70th).
Is there anything on at a theatre nearby he might like?

just going by what done for dad, fathers day - I'm taking him to see the comedians - duncan Norvielle, can't remember the other 2, but there 80s era, 2 yrs ago when we were in blackpool, I took them to see a conedians from the 70s, the 4 of us went, and dd absolutely laughed her socks off from start to finish. It was something we wouldn't of thought of but he loved it.

hope you get it sorted. xx

I know its not exactly thrifty gifty, but a while ago filled in a survey and it was your go in the draw for a sample - colour dye for use in the washing machine, - it came this morning, - absolutely brilliant as last yr ordered a dress and said cream, but its really pale more like white, but like the style - held on it - thought do something eventually, - was going to do the bag etc again (same style as one cut up), but now dying it mid blue, so very mse - saves me spending £25 new one xx
