Hello all,
Just browsing before it'stime to get ready for late night carol service. I've had to revise the timing of tomorrow's meal as my MIL is seriously ill & the family are staggering their meals so that she's not left alone. Sorry, I waffle; you don't need to know that.
I'm Diane, 56 years old, mum to 2 grown up children who are both single at the moment. My own parents are still going strong at 79 & 80 & I love them to bits.
I work in childcare full-time during term time. I'd like to be able to reduce my hours soon as I get more tired thesedays but it's not happening yet. My other half retired early this year. We are mortgage-free as a result, but he has an auto-immune condition which is in flare up at the moment, probably not helped by his mother's situation.
I am interested in all sorts of crafts but often find I don't have as much time to engage in them as I'd like, then I get frustrated. I make jams, chutneys etc to raise funds for a Christian charity in Kenya which I had the privilege of visiting in the summer.
Sorry if I've gone on too much!0 -
well preserved- hello

Sorry to hear about MIL and OH conditions , it seems a lot of us and our loved ones are going through "some thing" these past few weeks!
Well went round to give friend and her children there presents (our little tradition) then went on to another friends for drink and chat now totally behind. Got to wrap 10 more presents , tidy room change bedding and have bath and its already 10:30pm...wish me luck!

Hello, Just to say I started to read the thread in November but didn’t feel confident enough to contribute, putting that aside I still managed to put a couple of couple of projects into motion and want to thank you for that. I aim to be a follower of this thread for the next year and also aim to organise my months so Christmas doesn’t come as such as shock as it did this year. I have always relied on 2 wages coming in so it came as an even bigger shock when we only had one wage, so bring on next Christmas because I am preparing for you already.0

Merry Christmas all, welcome to more newbies, lovely to meet you all.
I am up and all alone at the moment lol, youngest daugther still asleep and OH is at work. I have my Dad on the computer chatting to him as he is alone as well at the moment until my brother goes to pick him up for dinner. Must be the latest Christmas day we have ever started lol. Going to cook dinner for this evening when OH gets home which will be about 7.30.
