    Hello all :j
Tried to contain my ''moans and groans'' to old thread.................lol
You all know me by now I'm sure but for those who don't.........I'm Mary, in receipt of pension and bus pass, reknown for doing things with gravy tubs etc............lol So I'm told.........lol:rotfl:and basically doing anything ''on the cheap''. Needs be as OH hasn't worked for over a year due to chest problems and now has fractured pelvis and deep vein thrombisis  Thank heavens mortgage is paid but it still means money's a bit tight to say the least.
So next year is really going to be a penny pinching year............managed well this year with shoe boxes of odds and sods for folk averaging out at £3 (some more some less).........would like to be able to recycle enough stuff to make the next lot of pressies freebies.............wonder if I could do it ??
Have a great christmas - hoping 2011 will be a good one for all of us:)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

What an afternoon! Such fun! :j:j:j While we were out earlier - Elysia's elf, 'jingles' brought new pj's and new wii games for DD's. DD1 got glee karaoke - so we've been singing. It's a wonder you couldn't hear us from where you are.:eek::eek:

Have been tracking Santa too (Norad Santa on Facebook) - He's done the great wall of China, Australia, Burma, Bangladesh and Everest - won't be long before he's here. So excited. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Apologies in advance, I get a bit hyper at Christmas. If I sound drunk, I've probably had some of Sugarspuns cake. ;)

Mary - We'll help you with ideas for no/low cost presents. Don't you fret about next year - just have fun with this one first.

My kids are due home in the next hour, they stayed with their Dad last night as I have Swine Flu (totally rubbish timing!). Have tidied as much as my body will let me and have all but the stocking fillers wrapped. We have chicken at Xmas as turkey too big for the 2 meat eaters in the family and have only just remembered to take it out of the freezer!!!! Fingers crossed I feel well enough to enjoy the day with them tomorrow!

All the HM goodies are done and dusted now alongside the gammon and apple sauce

Next on the list is to finish off the hampers with bows and put them under the tree then a zoom around the living room and stairs to clean up!

    Hi all

Hope you all get your last bits ready in time. My turn for a crisis, a situation with one of the children took a turn for the worse today, it's worrying but nothing I can actually do this moment so getting on with things.

About me - even though I'm seperated, ex and I carry on seeing each other and all our families exactly as before. So today we had our traditional Polish Christmas with him at my parents and tomorrow he's coming to me with my parents. Every Sunday I go with him for most of the day to his famiy home.

One of the children lives in an adult residential home and I spend a lot of the time on here talking about the A5 envelopes I collage with attractive magazine images so that when he receives money for gifts for for Christmas, Birthdays, Easter, holidays etc, he will know what the money is for. So I have different themed envelopes e.g. cafe, big breakfast, clothes, activities, ice cream, pub lunch etc.

It's surprising how hard it is to find the exact right pictures e.g. size, how they match with other photos, clarity. It seems to take me all year to do it properly. It's become and enjoyable hobby.

You'd laugh if you saw my bedroom. I've got loads of food in it because if I left it in the kitchen it would be eaten by tomorrow!
  • Presents all wrapped and living back to being tidy at last

All hampers have big pull bows on now and ready and waiting for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is finishing off the cleaning (bathroom and hoover upstairs) and then cook cook cook!!!!
