following on from a lovely idea, on of the ladies made, as there are a few of us who feel we need to do something about the weight, i know theres a lot of weight loss threads out there, but i figured we have 2 fab threads, a great bunch of ladies (and 1 gentleman at the last count), we laugh, we cry, we support each other - so why not have the weight thread

    count me in!!!

    I'm in - AGAIN xxx

Already sorted through the gifts received this year and decided which ones we can recycle!

Have two birthdays this month and have chosen presents for them so am money neutral there already.
This year I am going to whittle away at surveys and ebay, etc; so that I have enough cash for us and the kids presents and then I can use any vouchers for extended families presents.

I've also set myself a mad challenge that I'm going to do all my shopping online in ONE night for the men in the family once I have accrued the money/vouchers, I like to shop at the boots 75% off sale for the women and do the rest in the summer.

Am totally up for the ebay challenge this month.

    LOL. susan. Organised or what!

DD's netbook has a fault - It's the Acer Aspire One - It will only work when you take the battery out. Arrggghhhhhhhh. Stupid thing.

Hiya - DaisyMoo - welcome to the thread hun. The organised challenge is on page one here and if you're up to it there is challenge on the other thread (post 3) to make £50 this month - this all goes towards the presents etc, that you buy on this one. ifyswim. That'll keep you out of mischief. ;)

If I don't get back on this evening - I wish you all a very happy, healthy and money neutral, new year!!!

Anglea - Thanks for the welcome. My moniker comes from many, many moons ago - when I was in my teens I was a professional juggler and stiltwalker always makes an interesting addition to my CV!

As the new 2011 thread offically starts on Dec 25th........ just recapped on Santa's Challenge from Dec 2010....... , next be 24th Jan - but as Miss Hoodie will be back at school - there should be no cleaning!! xx

1st thing - Your all safe, Miss Hoodie is safely tucked up in bed, so you have a cleaning free month!!

2011 - Use which ever method you find easier, spreadsheet, notebook etc, and set up your present list and budget for Birthdays and Christmas Set this up and am adding stuff bought as I go along!!

Save Christmas cards, - reuse the fronts as tags, great if you have kids, as they can use plastic scissors - wavy edges etc Will do this once I've taken cards down....others will be put in recycling if cant be used!

Any good wrapping paper can be kept ready for shredding next yr. 1 roll left over and some cello!

Xmas sales - online sales tend to start before the high street, worth keeping an eye out for those. Main things to aim for cards, wrapping paper, tags, etc Got quite a few bits will put them on another post!

To add we had a wonderful Xmas day....I was totally relaxed. Re: New Meds....started then raised as told by docs but started having side effects like bad breathing and really bad insomnia! So reduced back to original dose and insomnia still bad so came off completely! Have had no meds since boxing day and am still coping and sleeping!!! lol

Xmas day was just myself, DH and DD then boxing day we had 4 little ones, DB, DN and his GF. Was lovely and too much food. I was totally spoilt pressie wise.....and a lovely thanks to secret santa for my ornament. I love it! xxx

  • Thought as the next Santas Challenge isn't till the 24th - thought we could have a little review.

    What was your best present?
    My new Uggs.......love them!

What would you do different next Christmas?
Nothing....Xmas Day was puuurfffeect!! No actually...not to leave sock monkeys to do all in one go and thats sorted cos I got 10 Santas for next years from M & S already!

What was the funniest / daftest thing of the day?
    Nothing really funny happened!

If you were granted three wishes what would they be?
    1. New kitchen.....am waiting to have it done by TMO!
    2. My health to be back to what it was 8 years ago so I could go back to work.
    3. DD to get into Uni of her choice.
