P.S. quite happy with my little order from Boots today, for £28 I got my OH two pressies, one was £15 & one £10 so I did the 3 for 2 and got my mum a nice £10 gift too.....then I spotted that the 17 make-up range are doing a free gift thing at the moment when you buy two 17 items, so I bought two quad eyeshadows for £1.50 each to get the free gift (lip gloss, eye shadow & eyeliner), which makes it very good value overall! Will give mum one of them and may keep the other as a b'day pressie :) plus I'm having it delivered to a boots just 1 min drive away from OH's house...so a bonus saving on petrol/delivery! woohoo!

struggling with what to get for my dad though...he doesn't wet shave and is quite particular with deodorants - which most gift sets have in them! so think i will end up making sets up myself with things i think he'll like :) not sure about other stuff though....hmm :/

Alja - it is............and I love the thought I can concoct a pressie that just might look good but cost me next to nothing.
Not that I'm mean but this time of year can cost the earth :)

Mary - I agree I do get a buzz from putting a lovely pressie together without hardly spending any money!

    Xmas Saver!
    iTS 68 DAYS TO XMAS....
As the panic starts to sink in, we're delievering our 1st batch of prezzies next week, there in the shed somewhere safe, but need a couple of bits to get, for kids, but the market we go to in Tavistock, do a kids bag of sweets for £1, look more expensive, just a token gesture present.

Hope everything goes ok Susan, at least its the right side of xmas, sure hubby will have a big list of stuff ready for you to do.

Mary, glad the kitcehn coming on ok, soon be up and running trying out all the cupboards, bet hubby can't wait to get back to the cooking.

djstar - mince pies, you've got me drooling, got my mincemeat ready and added some extra sherry into the jars, but haven't got any further yet, - confession cheat and get packet pastry, just add water, I have to hot hands, and souds daft its cheaper to do it that way than make by hand.

Reading a thread earlier, about butter, one person was saying last yr they were buying supermarket own brand for 50p, now the same £1.10, someones making money, but its not us.

Alja - Love the sound of the Boots offers, and the free gifts, they come in great for extras for xmas and stocking fillers, Miss hoodie has already attacked the Boots catalogue, she has some good taste!! just need the winning lottery numbers to go with it.

Updated my xmas list, theres 4 small prezzies to get, then 2 sets about £10, and then just mum, dad and Miss Hoodie to do. Come in well, est budget was £670, so far brought it in for just under £300. So plzed with that and there be a few bits to carry over for next yrs bdays....

My beds callings, and getting the stroppy looks from Bailey, sat on settee, he wants to curl up!
    Sweet dreams xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Morning all

I'm a bit anxious this morning, OH is going on his trip this afternoon. It has come round so quick and the day he comes back is when the clocks go back so winter will be well on its way by then.

We are all writing about what we are getting everyone else, has anyone given out hints of what they would like? I have asked OH for a new computer as mine went kapput a few months ago and we have been sharing the laptop since then. I told him not to get me anything else if he was getting me one as they are expensive but I know he has been getting parcels coming which have been whisked away. As for everyone else, when they ask what I want I always say some fabric please but only my Son has ever done this. I love it, he buys me nice stuff that I can't afford to buy for myself and then I can make something out of it. I suggested the other day to OH that if his Mum wants to get me something this year she has a shop in her town that sells the £1 a metre fabrics, I would be over moon with some of that but I reckon I will get another voucher this year. ED always laughs when I say buy me fabric or something I can use in my sewing and I usually end up with smellies of some kind.

    We're in our new house!!!!!

Actually, my beastling and I are in our new house. DH is in the hospital again, more testing required.

And my parents are over, so I wrapped all the Christmas gifts for them so they can take them back with them, plus I finally managed to find the photos I wanted to put in the cards and so all is good :) The shopping is done, if Miss Molly makes any more baby friends between now and then I'll dig something out of my stash. I might even wrap my friends' gifts tonight so they can be posted with the other Christmas stuff, hmm.

68 days till Christmas? BRING IT ON.

Congrats on the new home Sugarspun, I hope OH's tests go well xx

I have made a largish bag for YD for Christmas, the fabric for it cost me about £1. I can't take any photos until OH comes home as he has taken my camera with him.
