Not gone out today... will have to wait til next week when I get home. Trying to get 366 interesting facts to put in a jar but it's hard to find accurate facts...
Help with one accurate fact - Th last woman to be hanged in Britain was Ruth Ellis, and they did a film based on her story, "Dance with a Stranger"
Not quite sure if thats quite what you need!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Home safe from Prague, but unfortunately never had any special painkillers... thou could have done with it..
Disasters - wouldn't be a holiday of mine if something didn't go right!!
1st day - got lost on tram, so spent 2 hrs on tram and ended up back at hotel!!
1st ngt - organised trip - sandal broke in half so had to go barefooted, luckly it was on boat cruise at time!!
2nd day - thought after tram saga get taxi to the castle, apparently was about 15min walk.....£25 or so return in taxi...didn't see inside as too busy, and couldn't do stairs!!
Highlights
Mastered the tram system, ok only as far as Wenclas square, but I did it, and it was gorgeous
Saw Old town square, and the astromincal clock, it was amazing
found a tesco store - stocked up on snacks and goodies
Found jelly bean shop (Miss Hoodie has already eat most of hers
Hotel was gorgeous
Found fab italian restaurant, pizza was only £4
Saw chk folklore evening,
Did some xmas shopping!! one friend is having big selection of jelly beans, she's mad on them, then got coffee, biscuits, chocs for xmas
Love the gingerbread, not like ours -
Now Miss Hoodie has asked to go to Prague... told her she'll have to add it to her I want list!!
I would go back there 2mor, it was the most beautiful city, my hotel was lovely, Hotel Atos, and it was amazing... no men thou but happy and relaxed.
Unfortunately came back to the usual sagas, fuming with cafcass - got the report off them, and the officer has admitted that she has rung him and updated him on Karen's progress.... pretty sure she shouldn't have done that - theres a court order in place that he is not allowed to make any contact with me or Miss Hoodie in any way, shape or form, whilst the court case is active and cafcass are aware of that, - got to wait to see what solicitor says.
Depsite Miss Hoodie saying no I don't want anything cafcass have suggested she recieve letters, presents and cards, - despite her writing to him saying no I want nothing, so our next option is write to the judge direct. At this rate need a pair of boxing gloves.
I've booked our next holiday we're off to Tunisia next yr with some friends, same area, different hotel, they found a super bargain, all inclusive, and tied it up with finsihing my Open Uni courses next yr. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Can't wait until my uni course finishes in Aug 2012 - will be a big relief when it does finish and a big holiday as a reward for completing it!

Hi all, just catching up on all the posts, suddenly got busy here.
Take a look at this from MSE - the demotivator gadget where you write in how much you spend on regular items or treats and it adds up how much it costs per day/week etc.
It also has a second by second Christmas countdown!
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/income/demohohotivator/
I was a bit stunned by Fedupandskint's Christmas list because I thought it said -
cornflakes and pj'sthen I thought that's wrong, is it cornflies?
Finally had to sit right up close before I realised it was comfies!
Mum2one, I knew you'd have an adventure on your hols. At least you aren't reporting any medical related mishaps.
Sugarspun, I don't think many of us know before we have a baby that a lot of stress is going to come from unwanted advice or one upmanship from other parents.0 -
Glad you enjoyed your holiday Mum2one, the jelly bean shop sounds lovely xx0

Hello all :j
Well its all systems go with the workmen..........bathroom chap arrived 8.30am......poor chap didn't know what he was in for.........managed to get the old bath out in one piece and if he can get it down the stairs without having to break it we could sell it.......it's a really old one with feet. But.......as he went on he found the floorboards were starting to rot so new floor needed..........and the outside wall needs plastering he discovered after he'd shifted the pine panels OH put up I forget how many years ago. So, be a week and a half before its all done.
Outside the other builders been kicking up a racket with a grinder cutting breeze blocks to fit round new door on the garage -least that was outside.......his next job will be inside  (memo to self -buy ear muffs !) While all this was going on OH wasn't feeling so good -no wonder, he went out today without his walking stick and is now getting paranoid about aching joints thinking its arthritis! -so he decided to have a lie down upstairs...........how he slept through all the noise I'll never know but he did - 2 hours !! Think it was to make up for having to get up at 8 this morning when we weren't sure whether the water would need to be turned off or not.........vital to get the early morning wash and brush up out of the way.
Turned out we didn't need to.......not got to that stage yet.
While all this was going on I finished the wrist warmer I started yesterday.........another one needed to match and thats someone elses pressie done.:)
mum2one -glad you enjoyed your holiday
Angela-daren't look at that link properly..........we're having a cheap christmas this year anyway but even so I know we spend on stuff we don't really need just to give a bit of ''feel good factor''...........that is, until we realise whats been spent. Mind you, not being able to get out so much this year has saved me a few quid.........don't get to go in the charity shops as often where it used to be a few days a week and always came out with something.
moneypenny - lemon and honey and a bit of self indulgence for your cold. Hope its better soon:)
Hope you're all ok...............:)I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Hi everyone
Glad the work is under way Mary, it will be nice when it's all done won't it.
We did some shopping today, OH was buying bits for his trip next month, that's coming round well quickly now.
Son is supposed to be boxing this weekend, we have tickets to go to watch but he texted me this morning, said he was at A&E with suspected broken rib! He said he was training yesterday and got punched, was waiting to see if they were going to xray it but they decided not to, so he still doesn't know if its broken or not. He said he will rest it for a few days and see how it goes and then decide whether he wants to fight or not. It will be a mad rush if he is as he only told me yesterday that you can't wear trainers or jeans to this place and that's all I ever wear so I would have to buy a pair of trousers and shoes. That was the intention this morning when we were going shopping but he told me to wait until he knew if he was fighting as I don't want to waste money buying something I wouldn't wear.
I got my printer ink, I need to get my photo books back down again and make a list of what labels I need to print out but I can't be bothered tonight as I am really tired. I might get a bit of knitting done though while we watch tv later on. I have finished the back now so I am on one sleeve.0 -
hope everyone ok, wrapped up 4 sets of bday prezzies 2day, just got one more b4 xmas, my cousins boy, unless Miss Hoodie gets party invities!.
Next plan empty the car, sort out the present shed, take a couple of days, ideal is put everyones presents as individuals so be ready to wrap.
Finally got all units up in bedroom, just got to put the stuff back on bookcases and some clothes away.
Miss Hoodie is off on her 1st overnight school trip, they go Wed home Fri, to an outdoor bounds centre, - not joking but she has packed more than I took to Prague... bless her, she's wrote some suggestions down ready for Santas challenge!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Aw bless mum2one, miss hoodie writing her challenges when she`s preparing to go on trip. Hope she has a fab time. Your trip to prague sounds fun, well done you on mastering that. I remember when i went to tunisia and wanted to go to the zoo. The hotel was £45 each so we decided to go on train after talking to locals.
We got on the train no problem even found seats. The ticket collector came around and said we were sat in 1st class...I thought he was joking it was so bad, he said no go through there, we were sat with pigs, goats and people..
We got off the stop he said, just a platforn in the middle of nowhere. No houses nothing. So we walked towards some trees and were discussing how far it was and did you think it was a real zoo. When a giraffe popped its head through the trees, we still laugh about it. So instead of paying £200 for the trip it came to less than £20 , as we`d gone on the train we had a discount to get in the zoo. Fab day out.
Rufus - glad you had a fab day out at the craft fair, i love them
mary op - glad the building work underway. Be lovely when its finished
angela - you make me laugh
moneypenny you been busy. i knitted about 10 inches of a scarf, i`m very slow.Challenge 2018 - Learn by heart the Book by Wayne Morgan on Amazon - Betfair Football Trading as it helps to supplement my small income :beer:0
