I am not mincing about with my words anymore, again today i witnessed the lowest form of reptilian scum that is the modern day BTL landlord.
For too long i have been an apologist for that vile business, even though i argued that it was causing many of the social problems in this country today i would still attack it in "an ever so civilised way". Many of you will know what i am talking about, coming out with stuff like "you cannot blame them for making a buck" or " BTL is needed in some areas and for some people".

Most people who are living under a BTL roof are doing so because they have no choice, those people have created a speculative bubble which traps many. The only people buying today are those with money burning a hole in their pockets, and then those who want to buy can't as rents are being put up, catch 22.

I have met and seen many of these reptiles in many ways(living and media), none(NONE) have a decent bone in their body. Kirsty Allsopp, Grant Bovey, Rosie Millard, The Wilsons, van hoogstraten, endless MP's(big reason why it is nurtured), all those soulness cold lowlife on singing pig, you have a scrawny looking plumber who looks like he has never had a friend in his life bragging constantly and laughing at the less well off wannabe FTB's on PMT motley fool along with Kingofnowhere with his pants around his ankles and Kleenex in hand posting 24/7 why rents are going up.

I have met dozens of them, the types you would see on THE ONLY WAY IS ESSEX, slick, sneaky, won't pay their bills, ex bankrupts, only love is money, lying cheating, filth the lot of them, not once have a ever met one with a social conscience. I know this is strong stuff, and if i had seen any different with my own eyes i would say, there is no exception.

The BTL is killing aspiration, it is just creating temp homes, homes where in many cases you have few rights and can be kicked out with 2 months notice should those worms decide. Homes that the landlord will always refer to as HIS/HERS, he/she will never let the tenant feel like it is truly theirs.

Those that have all purchased their own homes(and good luck to them, REALLY), who live with BTL propertys have to put up with endless tenants, people who never really feel like part of the community.
The BTL landlord will say they work hard, RUBBISH!!!, they are after an easy life and easy money. They will say that they took the chance, ok i will take a chance and rob a Bank tomorrow.
Socially we don't need many of them, they will tell you that they are housing the thick and useless :rotfl:, arrogant prats.

If David Cameron really cares about peoples happiness like he claims and not the BTL landlords that flood Parliament then he will start making it economicaly difficult for the wealthy to keep the poorer workers in the pockets of spivs and those with more money then sense.

Seriously, i really hate them, i have kept it quite for so long, tried to fight my corner in a civil way with constructive argument. The fact is that not one of these reptiles have a decent bone in their body, it's about time people started to take them.

I watched today as a working single woman was brought to tears by one of these heartless worms who for the first month had money problems and was asking for help.
It's the nearest i have ever come to sticking a mans head through a wall, i walked off the job before i did.

Don't know your history but isn't your landlord BTL scum?

I think they have this in Spain about 1-2% of the value of the property as an annual tax

Which as I have said before will be paid ultimately by the renter not the owner through the rent they are charged. Reducing the amount that the renter has to spend on buying there own house.
Please remember other opinions are available.

Maybe all LL's should go out on strike and on a set date serve the relevant papers and evict their tenants and accept no new people, leave it for a month so people who want to rent are desperate then double the prices.

    Just a thought.........

Maybe all people in rented accommodation should trash the place and just leave. Remind the greedy LL there is risk on any investment.

Did you not sense the joke in my comment?
    BIG difference.

They invested into the infrastructure of this countries economy whilst provide a valuable service.

    Non=BTLers don't.

yes helping ramp prices to price to the future generations is a very valuable service, we should thank them... oh wait...

  • So we have got to the point where there is now been over 300 replies, and the counter attack from over opionated BTL landlords on this site and sneaking across from PMT motley fool is just what you would expect. weak!
You get the usual drivel about a few kids starting out in life and wanting to rent, i am fine with that!.
The usual heartwarming talk of "my wonderfull landlord" such as he left me a bottle a wine by the bin:rotfl:, well it's the least he could do. If you read up about Hitler, he used to love animals and take his Mum on holiday every year.

Then you get to the real meat and two veg of BTL opposition, the verbal spitefull attack which at the end of the day is about the only defence these type of people can come up with.
The usual "what a rant" or "this guy is a right nutter", many then go on to say that they could not be bothered to read this thread because it is so extreme, then go on to repeat themselves over and over again.
The more you attack the greed of these people the more personal and nastier they get, in all honesty their defence of BTL is weak at best.

Most of the BTL went into this game because of the capital games they once could command, they quite simply want to sit at home bragging on internet sites how flush they now are, which in most cases is now turning out to be a bluff.

You get BTL posters so conditioned to lying that they assume that everyone is at it, Chucky being a good example, the coward still has not once replied to my charity offer after what he claimed, the guy could make a fast £5000 bucks for a good cause, why has he not taken me up?.

Again i will say it without the emotion, it is factually correct to say that there are millions living under a BTL roof that are forced there through circumstance, but you get the odd situation where BTL could be usefull.
BTL landlord's don't give a monkeys about who pays their rent, the tenants could be a dozen eastern europeans over populating the already crowded UK, it could be a HB claim, they don't ask questions they just take the money.
I cannot help feeling that if you ever wanted to know what a collaborator would have looked like had the Nazis occupied Great Britain, look at a BTL landlord.

That landlord really upset you yesterday didn't he.

Can you just remind us what you said to him?

Do you think maybe he was just an unpleasant person and a p**s poor landlord and you've got yourself a little bit overwraught?

    Hi overwraught

    Yes he did mate:)

You have to understand without out going into many details i work indirectly with dozens of these BTL guys probably 100's, without generalising most are not the kind of people i would want to have dinner with(but have), trust, or have any of them inflict their moral standards upon me. Most are preoccupied with money making and should you stand in their way you would be shocked at what many are capable of doing.

I am having a real conflict these of interest these days, and it won't be long before one of these weazley little runts is trying to pull his head out of his own backside.:)

Familys should not be living this way, they should not be living under the strain of these spiv type slimey and in many cases uneducated morons unregulated rules.
I might start budging a lot on BTL if it becomes much more regulated, say 10 year leases, and far more protection for tenants rights. Nobody who lives in these souless little boxes that are owned by BTL can in anyway impose their personality on their supposed home, it's all magnolia paint and cheapness.

But we were told that renting is "grate" and it's so cool not being tied down and you don't have to pay for maintenance and stuff. Are you saying this is not true?
