Hi Souk, try Bistro Jacques in Hardman Street, Liverpool, 0151 709 1998. I don't work for them btw! Very good food at MSE prices. Just around the corner from Hope Street, which has a Cathedral at both ends (a former Bishop said "two Cathedrals joined by Hope"). Also in Hope Street is the Philharmonic pub, which tourist groups stop at to visit the marbled gents loos
. Satchmo x
I would definitely second this. You MUST have a look at the gents loos, if only because they chase the men out so a group of women can go into. Do wear a peg on the nose though as they have the original victorian urinals too
Oh how I miss my Saturdays in Liverpool! I used to go to a little cafe up by the bombed out church (sorry cant remember the name of the road ) and for about £12 two of us could have starters olives and houmous followed by a curry and a beer each. Not sure if that is still doable - it was 2 years ago.
Enjoy yourselves ladiesSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Ah thanks a lot ladies, I'll certainly run that past the girls. FF the place we went with DT when she was up. Tis 2 courses for £6, and £4 for a glass of fizz!!!
In tonight with pizza, Eurovision and cider! Whoop. My mate is in Dusseldorf at the stadium. Faints!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -

My DD was rooting for Jedward

I love Graham Nortons comment that if they won, they'd probably never sleep again :rotfl:0 -
Had a fabby day with FF and didn't overspend toooo much! Still got £14.50 left for next week which is good. Had a few drinkies with lunch, came home and fell asleep and have woken up with a slight hangover! Early night planned and that's me X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Hey all,
Been away with work this week and was SERIOUSLY skint so have asked mum for £50 from my buffer fund and between that and various other bits I'm now sorted.
We're supposed to get paid on Tuesday 31st  but I have a feeling I may get mine on the Friday previous due to the BH/my bank so not bad at all. I've NEVER had to take from the buffer fund before but I figured it was better to do that then stress for the rest of the week and not enjoy it.
I have a work meeting in Liverpool on Monday and the we're staying over and having a night oot (as above) so I needed cash for that and to go to my mates for dinner on Friday. I also have a leaving do for one of my old colleagues on Saturday next and while these things will be lovely, they wont be free!
Also tonight I'm in charge of booze and one of the boys is bringing curry. They both got job offers yesterday so think tonight could be a bit drunken!!! I'm so chuffed for them and they start next month. One of them is getting a new kitchen in with his redundancy and is getting me his old freezer. This will really help with my efforts to save cash and eat better. Whoop!
So here's the cash situation:
Bank: £71.22 (£17.51 of this is still to come but has been transferred from my Paypal account thanks to surveys and ebaying an old frock. Dead chuffed with this)
Purse: £27.80
Holiday Clothes Fund: £50, going to look for some stuff later today. Didnt want to touch this as it was a lovely gift and I'd have felt too guilty.
So i basically have £99.02 to spend between now and next Tuesday/this Friday which is loads.d
I plan to buy some food for my freezer with this and also keep what I can back for next month as there's loads happening.
Grocery spends this month are a not very good £70.11 which is already £10.11 over target. Was £20 under last month tho and am sure this will be less in the future once I get my shiny new freezer organised.
Been feeling abit knackered but back on the case now and looking forward to a fun weekend. Bring it on! :j'The road to a friends house is never long'0
