Hi all, well had some bad news late last night. My friends mum passed away and her service is on Saturday. She only found out she has cancer in October so she didn't get long at all. Very sad.

Before that I made a fab meal for my friend and we had a lovely night.

This has changed my weekend plans so am now going to see FF during my week off work in March instead and will go to the funeral and then to my friends to stay on Saturday night. Her wee boy can't fail to cheer me up!

Spent £10 on a nice meal, sweets and a mag today which I never do but felt really down. Feel better now and am going to my mums on Sunday to stay over. Wobbled when I heard my friends news and really wanted to see her. I am soft really :rotfl:

The wobble is understandable, it is very difficult to explain but you HAVE to make the most of them while you have them so that there are no regrets

  • Hi Souk, so sorry to hear your friend's news. I had a similar wobble last week, was straight on the phone to my mum and was glad to see her and my dad as soon as I could afterwards.

Hope everyone is coping as well as they can and that the funeral is ok :(

Hi all, time of the month so feel miserable as sin, :(have put on some of my lost pounds and am skint til payday. Also sick of all my dark old clothes and having to wear bobbly old tights and jammies as I'm saving too much to buy new ones! However compared to my poor friend I have NOTHING to worry about so here's where I'm at:

Groceries £5.81 left (mind I spent a tenner on booze so it should be £15.81)
    Purse £24.80
    Cultural Fund: £17.10

I banked the cf today so that I can spend it if necessary but I'd rather not. I'm at my friends Saturday night and at my folks Sun/Mon so that will be free and then cheap. Mum also has food supplies for me. Boost! :j She was telling me of a few bits she's seen that she has for me and between that and my remaining grocery spend the end of the month should be in sight (paid on the 28th ).

My skin is also a bit sore with excema so had a wee sunbed today which should help.

Next month will be all about sorting my wardrobe out and buying some new bits. The discount structure changes at the beginning of the month and I can buy 5 pieces to do my through the new few months. Can't wait!

Sorry for being a miserable cow, not like me. Normal service will resume shortly!

  • So sorry to hear of about your friends mum. There are times when we just need to be with those we are closest to, I hope you have a nice time with your parents. X

Just to add, I got some lovely pjs from primark a few weeks ago which were only £3. I'm wearing them just now actually, they're soft, comfy and my fave pjs of the moment! They might still have some in stock, I got mine in the argyle st one.

I know LB, just that if I BUY them I can't DO something else if you know what I mean!

What a miserable cow I have been for the last few days but feel much cheerier today. If I spend the cultural budget tis not the end of the world.

I have also spoken to Mum about not saving my holiday cash next month. She keeps it for me and is not telling me what to save anyway so thought this was hilarious but I could do with a bit of colour into my wardrobe and with getting some new gear for work so next month I think I'll do that with my holiday £100 instead of saving it as I'll still have plenty for the hol from the other months.

Feel very excited about this as I can now go and have a look round the shops, knowing that I'll be able to buy a few bits when payday comes!!!

Hey there Souk - you sound like you're feeling better today - but you know, you don't need to almost apologise for feeling bad - even though life is good in the main, you've had bad news this week, you're hormonal, its the end of a long bad winter - I'm glad you're not doing the holiday saving next month, you need some investment in the present day from the sound of it. I know that feeling! As I get things clearer in the house, and store things more rationally after the rush of moving in and putting things *anywhere* just to be able to move around, I can start to see the things I need. I might potter about on Sunday clearing clothes around, I need a quiet day as I'm going out in the evening.

Hope you have a good day today.
