i am with rsa and recently bought a second hand audi tt so had to get this put on to my insurance, i wanted to do this over the phone but was basically told to do it online as this was the reason my insurance was so cheap.i did all this & it came up that it had all gone through, i was charged £10 & my monthly payments went from £35-£65 have been coming out of my bank account.yesterday i was pulled over by the police & had my car impounded as they havent changed my details on their system but have been charging me.i cant speak to them until tomorrow as no one is available over the weekend so i have to wait to call their premium rate number from my mobile tomorrow just thought id let people know0

When did you swop the cars over?
Have you received / printed off a certificate or covernote?0 -
Another dissatisfied customer here. With 24 days of the policy with RSA Echoice to run, we had to change details as OH's car was dead. Went online and attempted to do this for a £29.75 which we felt was reasonable for a slightly higher risk vehicle. Website crashed. Went back online a while later and it had amended his policy to a start date 24 days ahead (the renewal date) and refused to amend anything because the policy was due to start..... Phoned them and the pre amble recorded message said amendments like this cost £15 rather than free 'online', we knew the new vehicle was slightly more to insure, but didn't expect the total cost FOR 25 DAYS INSURANCE to be £107!!!!!!!
Now trying to cancel both policies online, but keep getting a 502 proxy error everytime I try to cancel OH's policy (the one with the amended start date which I didn't amend), although mine has apparently cancelled with no problems......
Editted to add, or so I thought....... Now, because I've cancelled FROM RENEWAL DATE I can't print off the insurance certificate I need to renew my Road Fund Licence......Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Having sold my car in January I requested a refund for the period I no longer needed cover fro from RSA. I was assured it would be in my a/c within 10 working days...it wasn't. I called then again and the same details were given and I was again assured of payment into my a/c, it didn't happen. I then had to produce bank stagtements to prive it hadn't been paid into my a/c! surely their own accounting system would prove this? next I am promised a cheque in the post...it diusn't arrive. I was then promised another cheque in the post, it didn't arrive either. Finally I was so angry that I sent a Without Prejudice
e-mail threatening action to recover my money. 1) The Daily Mail has Money Mail one day a week and takes on cases of which the findings are then published, especially where dishonesty is found. 2) The Small Claims Court, which would recover my funds but would bill RSA for all legal costs involved. Surprise! a couple of days after sending this e-mail I received a cheque in payment. This company was clearly giving me the run around and acting in a very unprofessional manner, hoping that I would give up. I would never recommend RSA to anyone and strongly suggest that you steer well clear, always.0 -

MSE'ers,
I found this article at the top of Goggle search when I was looking for a claim phone number for echoice RSA following an accident this week Monday. I was shocked and horrified as I expected complete fraud given the web site was down and didn't receive the policy in post. The accident is a clear no fault (rear hit to stationary car) at our end.
Given my car involved has clocked less than 5k miles and a reasonably premium range my fear of not having proper cover left me paranoid.
However I contacted break down service who offered to bring the car back home (which was not required) and suggested to contact next day to submit the claim which I did.
Agree the time availability of customer service is limited but the person on the phone took notes and managed to get a hire replacement delivered to my home in next 24 hours and my car collected from home to be taken from repair. Since then I have been informed of the progress via emails, voice message and one call even requesting feedback on my experience thus far.
Agree - claim is not yet settled and it is too early to comment but I wanted to take time to share my positive feedback as it is not always captured on portals.Live Life Kingsize, MONEYWISE0 -
Okay - Ive recently insured with Vauxhall and everything had gone smoothly, only to find out that they have cancelled my insurance as I did not provide details of a claim against me dating back to April 2011! Claim? Ive never had a claim against me of any sorts! So, the only details I am given is that it is with a past insurer Sun Alliance. Upon a quick internet search for an email address (as its Sat pm and office is closed), I discover lots of issues relating to RSA, from E-Car. This brings back problems I had with them, which would not doubt date around April 2011. I had paid in full with these guys only to discover after 5 months, they never insured me! Shock!!! They would not refund me though unless I paid a cancellation fee? despite telling me I wasn't insured? confused? They are owing me approx. £350, of which (until now) have forgotten to pursue. Anyway, to my original issue - Vauxhall wont cover me as RSA have a claim against me for £396odd? Where do I go from here please?! My car is NOW NOT insured!
Can anybody provide an email address to RSA? Please?
Other than that I will not be able to contact them until next Sat am (due to work commitments) and I do not want to go that long (possibly/ more than likely longer without being insured)
thanks in advance guys0 -
It's getting better and better... If you see my message above, you will see I tried to cancel both insurance policies a couple of weeks ago. One I was able to cancel, the other I couldn't do through the website, but as it was up for renewal and I had no intention of renewing it, I didn't bother. What I did do, as a precaution, was cancel both Direct Debits.
Yesterday morning I received a 'default notice' as they'd tried to take payment on the policy I hadn't renewed. That's the same one the wrote to me and confirmed had been cancelled!!!!
On checking the RSE E Choice website, I discover BOTH policies are now showing as live, with start dates of 24th June 2013.....
ASKMID confirms this and shows the vehicle which is sitting on my drive in bits, with it's guts on my back lawn, is apparently insured....
This bunch couldn't organise the proverbial pee up.......Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Follow up - 2nd July received a default notice for the above policy, the one I tried to cancel but couldn't, but certainly didnt renew (via the button inviting me to do so on their website). Customer service lass even agreed with me that having a button on the website inviting me to renew when their system is setup to do it automatically is misleading. Confirmed both policies were cancelled as of the renewal date.
TODAY received a notification that there's an outstanding balance of £25.04 which should be paid by the 16th... Customer services have again confirmed that the policy has been cancelled, by me, the customer, and to ignore any further lettersPlease forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0
