Courier firms have been great - getting through day after day, and it's clear why so many firms use them.:T:T

RM have been their usual 'inept/can't be arsed' selves.

Hopefully, when the Germans take over RM next year, (allegedly) we will see that old German efficiency start to happen.

I do think it is unfair to rail on delivery workers.

I know its stating the obvious but Christmas is not a moveable feast and so we all know when it is coming.

I am as guilty as the next person for i too am a last minute person.

This is mainly driven by the fact that i am so damn busy at work that i hardly have any "me" time.

    But think about this...

We cannot have on the one hand, people excusing themselves from work and having duvet days and similar and then others peering out the window for delivery drivers from royal mail/couriers/Tesco/Asda/Ocado etc.

There can be no adverse weather apartheid !

If the duvet day brigade cant make strenuous efforts, why expect and demand it of others?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Sorry to be dim what is 'cc'? What does it insure you for? Delivery by Xmas? Sorry! :o

    cc=credit card.
I assume the poster is referring to the standard cover for individual items over £100 provided by Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act - but I don't think you could use that to get a refund if goods didn't arrive for Christmas.

No chance of those turning up now.

On the upside im sure thorntons will be getting thousands fewer customers next year, after their half !!!!!d effort this year.

I had 1 item due to be delivered by Amazon on 9th December which still has not been received, but they were excellent at offering a choice of replacement or refund. They couldn't guarantee delivery before Christmas so I took a refund. The worse company is VERY.CO.UK who use their own delivery company - depsite several emails, telephone calls a Kinect Sensor has still not arrived. It went in and out of the Blackburn depot several times, then got sent to Ireland and now just found out its been sent to Rochdale! They won't give me a refund until the parcel is back with them and with their history that might be months. In the meantime I've had to buy another for my son's main Christmas present so I am well out of pocket. I certainly won't go near VERY.CO.UK again
  • I love the way VERY are advertising guaranteed delivery before Christmas if you order before 8pm tonight..yet are failing to deliver orders placed ages ago. That makes as much sense as a chocolate teapot!
She has the loaded handbag of someone who camps out and seldom goes home, or who imagines life must be full of emergencies..

Ordered via Amazon on 11th, dispatched on 18th, delivered yesterday 22nd, a day before estimated delivery. Took Amazon twice as long to dispatch the thing as it took Royal Mail to deliver it.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. Thumbs up to Royal Mail.

    Merry Christmas!
