last year i was waiting till about 5 days before xmas for all my orders to arrive , this year i very much doubt they will all get here , i blame the lazy delivery men and postmen , !!!!!! why dont they just do what they're paid to do and deliver our stuff?
Quite unfair, not a job I would want in this weather.

Yes, it's unfair. Some of my post is reaching me; the delivery men are working, here, but in really bad conditions. The supermarkets here have stopped delivering (I live very near the stores); the taxi companies don't know how many drivers will turn up -- it took me several hours to get one; it's that bad, here. But the post is getting right to my door, not that I would blame the postal workers if it didn't.

Unfair!

I had 2 parcel deliveries today. Some banter about him not delivering a 3rd time, I responded I would lay a place at the Xmas Dinner table, he offered to come in and check the wine is ok, made me laugh.

HE was out in the snow - I was home and warm.

I have no complaint with Royal Mail.

And another courier has delivered a parcel 10 minutes ago, and I regard unsocial hours to be 9pm onwards.

I think the delivery companies are doing the best they can.

To be fair, while delivering late at night is impressive, being out in the snow is surely just part of a postman/delivery man's job.
• I got a parcel tonight a round 8pm for that courier that has very dark brown vans cant remember name

Really appreciate the guys efforts here he said he wanted to get thse parcels out so know one misses out

UPS has dark brown vans.

I can't fault our postie was talking to him today his feet were wet through and he was telling us that the shoes they provide are rubbish they have little spikes on the bottom but after 5 minutes they are uselss in the snow because the spikes snap off. I think any of us are lucky to get any post in this weather.

I'd rather I didn't get post for a week if it meant my postie doesn't get poorly or a broken limb because of the ice. I think they are all doing their best I think we just have to be patient.

My husband works in a desk based role for Royal Mail. He was told along with the rest of his team, that he was being put on packet deliveries from the 6th December to help deliver the vast volume of parcels that were backlogged. He has worked every day since without a break, and up to 12 hours a day. He has missed our daughters first nativity play, and had his holiday leave cancelled so he couldn't come on a family weekend in Centre Parcs which was very disappointing for us.

He's absolutely wrecked but pleased his team made the effort as they think they will manage to get everything out in time for Christmas.

It's nice to know his efforts are much appreciated.
Here I go again on my own....

Ignore bigblackdog - obviously a !!!!!! with sort of personal issue with Royal Mail - I think the vast majority of people are happy with their posties at the moment despite the unavoidable delays.

Still waiting for 2 parcels coming via royal mail one is a fleece for OH if that doesn't come on time its not the end of the world I'll give him an IOU.

The one I am concerned about is my nephews present from Play.com bought and posted at same time as present for my niece. Nieces one has come nephews hasn't. If it doesn't come by tomorrow's post (Thursday) I am gonna go to an actual shop and get it then if/when it turns up it the Play.com one can be an extra pressie for OH (its a remote control Dalek so he'll enjoy it too)
:AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A
