Its not any trouble to be honest, some people just go on about it! Myself I have not had to pay any money out my own pocket on fuel bills this year after cash back.
My duel fuel costs around £400 PA and im £23.45 up after all cash back paid out!
I pay about £150/year because I split the bills with others...might look into cash back though, thanks.0 -
Real hassle to read a meter? Well don't change supplier then. Is not rocket science to move suppliers is it online?
No, its just EON my current supplier are saying I need to read the meter on one date and EDF my new supplier have given me a different date.
Both swear they're right !!!0 -

So just read the meter then on both days - how hard is that? :T0 -
When I called British Gas to give them my final reading they didn't want it and told me to give it to the new supplier who would give it to them. So if I were you I would follow EDF's dates and give the readings to them. EDF also said there was a five day window in which to do this but me being a bit of a perfectionist read the meter on the exact day.
By the way got a cheque from British Gas today with a refund of the credit that was on my gas account.. one penny!0 -

Paul I have changed suppliers (IGT gas & electric) around 12 times since last December, You only have to give your new supplier a meter reading, they then should pass it on to your old supplier. It does not need to be on an exact date, normally you get around 5 days to do it.0 -

You def should, I should have done this years ago.0 -
Bit annoyed with EDF at the moment. Switched 4 months ago and just had the first bill in. I'm dual fuel online saver 6. However for the first two weeks they put me on the standard tarrif which at points over well over double the price. Their rationale is that it takes time to get on the dual tarrif. 16 days in my case. I find it not acceptable that I should have to pay them any more than I am contracted to.0
