I am in the process of moving to EDF and have now got my payment schedule from them.

They have yet to ask for meter readings, only seemed to have moved my Gas not my Electricity, so am a little less than impressed but it is early days yet.

This is why I sometimes think that switching suppliers to save money is false economy. Big companies always seem to mess something up, and they deliberately make it difficult to switch to/from each other.

I would rather pay the extra & be confident that my family has heating, electricity & water, particularly over Christmas. Not to mention all the time & stress saved, can't put a price on that IMO.

Changing suppliers *never* causes anyone to go without gas or electricity at any time.

The only people who are at risk of having no fuel over Christmas are those with prepayment meters and then it's because of faulty keys or cards.

But if it pleases you to join the glass half empty brigade sign up with Paulfoel there, he's a paid up member ;)

Thank you Tortoise, all this hassle is good practice, move several times each year helps pay the bills.

Just to prove the point ;)

I am not sure that Paul has ever had anything in the glass

It's making me depressed. Must be me, I quite like sorting these things out. :o
;39579992]Also, EON have told me that both are moving over on 30th Dec and that I need to read the meter on that day. Confused now.

I rememeber now why I rarely bother changing suppliers. Had this hassle last time.
Real hassle to read a meter? Well don't change supplier then. Is not rocket science to move suppliers is it online?

Its not any trouble to be honest, some people just go on about it! Myself I have not had to pay any money out my own pocket on fuel bills this year after cash back.

My duel fuel costs around £400 PA and im £23.45 up after all cash back paid out!
