As an investor, you know that any kind of investment opportunity has its risks, and investing in Stocks or Precious Metals is highly speculative. All of the content I post is for informational purposes only.

The Gulf Stream will stop, this is a certainty, it will create havoc for sure as we sit at a similar latitude to Moscow, however it's not going to happen tomorrow. There are so many issues that will bring our current way of life to an abrupt end.

The first will be the end of cheap oil which is required for every single aspect of our modern lives, next the aforementioned Gulf Stream issue and of course let's not forget the Super Volcano which sits under Yellowstone and is already 20,000 years overdue.

When this goes off, expect the global population to fall to less than 100,000 from it's current 6.5 billion.

At one point you were a level headed poster, where did it go wrong?

    Ash:

I really wish you'd stop posting these threads.

We had a bloody earthquake whose epicentre was not far from here yesterday (Lake District) and the mother-in-law's convinced it's something to do with Global Warming.

On the basis of this thread, I told her the Gulf Stream has stopped.

She wants to know what the Persians have to do with it so, referencing various other similarly informative threads on MSE, I blamed it all on New Labour's non-existent immigration policy.

Why is it that doom-mongering has to get so flamin' complicated?

PS: if there's another earthquake tonight, I may need to pm you for further advice.

The earthquake is due to the shifting by the aliens in their mountain 'garage' in France.

    They're obviously drilling new tunnels.

I kid you not, I met someone else today who gets all their news from YouTube. He actually asked if I thought this video was real: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAD1D7wM2hU

    Even the computer said no.

Of course that isn't real. Real bodies disappear into thin air. Has the video maker never seen Yoda die in Return of the Yedi?!?

Phylpho - you just had to tell your MIL the truth: Labour had 13 years to sort out the weather and failed miserably and have left the coalition "to sort the mess Labour left us with - it's now down to our strong and stable government to resolve all this weather, it's time the party opposite apologised for the absolute misery they have left the country in".

    Merry Christmas.
